Jim Hines is pretty amazing. He's worked with so many important people including various government bodies, which makes his stories very interesting to listen to. I attend class without fail- he's a pretty humorous prof & definitely overqualified for this job.

Basically equate sex with tax. and that Hines changed most of the tax system himself or know people that helped reform it. Likes to put own research up. Also makes fun of the textbook author like 2 friends aruging. Be careful of mult choice. Hard HW assignments. That's what the class is. Hines makes it so tax is fun to learn. and he pokes a lot of

Probably one of the smartest people I've ever met. Lectures were one of the few I didn't skip. He is more than willing to pretty much spoon-feed you if you put forth the effort (go to office hours and just ask for help). Great class, wish I could have had more with him

My first impression was that he's smug and annoying. (sounded like he tried too hard to speak perfectly).Thankfully I gave him a chance. His lectures are crystal-clear and has many interesting things to say. He managed to make even the driest and dullest subject of taxation into a topic which I consistently brought up in conversation.

One minute he is really funny, and then be a total jerk in the next. Lectures are usually entertaining, and he has plenty of anecdotes. Don't sit in the front row, and don't speak in class unless you want him to make fun of you all day.

He is on autopilot when he's teaching -- he doesn't even seem to know what's on the homework or what he's supposed to be lecturing about. Even his jokes and witty banter are prepackaged -- you can tell. Smug and self impressed.
