the class was hard which was fine with me and I learned alot, but it was originally taught by another professor. Then McMullen would step in and suddenly take over the class. I'm not sure how the professors who were originally teaching the class appreciated it BC I sure didn't. He gave vague comments and, as someone else just said, thought his meth

Jim is the best instructor i've ever had. His class is incredibly difficult, but he really cares about you as a student. I use what he has tought me everday in my professional career.

A lot of people don't like him because he's cranky and old, but i thought his class was very fun. It got me through my second year of illustration. He will push you depending on how much effort you have in you. Just don't be a slack ****.

He'll be gone after Spring '05, which is a shame. So much of what he says about the human body and how to draw it makes sense. He opened my eyes to what art really is. If you're looking for a friend, don't take this class - He's harsh, uncompromising, and sparse with praise. But you'll get good.

Very very interesting prof. I'm really enjoying the class, although I am a bit scared he'll rip apart my drawings. Pretty nice guy, but can be harsh. If you want a totally different take on figure drawing... take this class!!
