I learned so much from Dr. Moyer this semester. He made the class fun, the lectures interesting, and he took the time to individually get to know all his students. His class is one of the most difficult I have taken. You really have to work day to day to keep up, and tests require some preparation and studying. Worth the work to take.

Comment:

Dr. Moyer is the best professor I've ever met and took a class from in my entire life. He goes out of his way to hold study sessions once a week for his bi-weekly quizzes, and he also learns all of his student's names (if they show up to class) by the second or third week of classes. Definitely one of the best instructors at Missouri State.

Moyer knows his stuff, the work load was not a lot it was just not always an easy concept. Deff have to put yourself into his point of view, but it's interesting and he has funny stories.

Great class as long as you go to the review sessions Lectures can be somewhat boring Dr. Moyer is an incredible teacher, and it overall is a pretty great class. As long as you go to the review sessions and listen mostly in class, you will do great.

Dr. Moyer has been my favorite professor at Missouri State, and even got me interested in a religious studies minor. I love him he is absolutely incredible. Be prepared to work though, as long as you attend the review sessions and have a good relationship with him you will be in good shape!

Moyer is incredible. So passionate.Very educated. You have to attend lectures and do the readings, but he gives you plenty of opportunities to review with him. The guy is hilarious and has such a big heart. Talk in his class. He really likes that. You should do fine. Test corrections are available which was really nice!

Moyer is a wonderful teacher, but if you are looking for an easy A do not take his class. He is very passionate about what he teaches and is extremely helpful but can be confusing in lectures. He is more than willing to meet with you and help you.

Be prepared to work. Dr. Moyer is very knowledgeable and informed about the subject matter--he tends to tell numerous stories of his experiences in Israel. The class requires a lot of study time and review, and the tests can be challenging with essay questions, but it is very rewarding. Dr. Moyer is extremely helpful if you put in the work.

Dr. Moyer is the most effective lecturer I've ever studied under. His lectures have been honed over his 40 years of teaching, and are very clear, concise, informational, interesting, and memorable. He is a charming old man with a ton of life experience and a great attitude. The course was challenging, but not mind-meltingly so.

The content of the class was very interesting however the class was extremely difficult for a general education course. The teacher is very knowledgeable about the course but is not able to teach it effectively. He leaves you confused most of the time. He usually rambles in class about useless information.

warning, if you take Dr. Moyer for GEP it will not be a blow off class like the other sections. He takes the class very seriously. I enjoyed having him because he is truly interested in our success and cares. The material itself isn't hard but just tedious

I love Dr. Moyer. He does his very best to assure that the students understand. He hold study sessions before every quiz and test. What I liked most about the course I that he promotes critical thinking and loves when students argue their opinion (with reasonable support, of course). He will not tell you his beliefs are right. Its refreshing.

Take thorough notes in class and from the book. Really takes the class seriously for an intro, but I really believe he's MSU's best-very approachable. Coming out of the IB Program, I learned a comparable amount from him. He's on your side and wants you to succeed! Gives weekly quizzes which are very helpful come test time with 3 review sessions.

Such a nice intelligent man... But SO confusing for a 100 level source. If you are taking this as an "easy A", DO NOT. There are quizzes every Friday and the tests all have an in depth essay. Seriously... It's tough and a lot of work. He gives only 2 points of extra credit the whole semester... Good luck.

Doctor Moyer is a great ancient history of Israel teacher. If you are not familiar with studying biblical text then you will have to study. You will be rewarded. If you like ancient history it is a must take.

One of my favorite teachers, by far. He really gets you to understand everything you learn about. I would recommend attending class, because it's easy to get behind. It's not a simple course, the tests have large essays and particular questions. But read the book, attend study sessions, go to class and you will get a good grade.
