I'm sure she has the best intentions, but honestly her classes are horrendous. She rambles during lectures, she won't give straight answers to questions, and for the life of her she can't make class interesting. She makes a big deal for being "progressive" for integrating science, but she's very closed-minded and won't consider others' opinions.

Honestly worst professor ever. If you don't love jesus you probably won't do well. She does not respect the opinions of others, and pics ridiculous topics to discuss in class. She also thinks shes super progressive by teaching theistic evolution. Like come on.

Dr. Schaefer means well but her class is so incredibly boring. In lecture she rambles frequently and it's hard to follow and also very boring. She expects way too much out of her students for an Intro Theo Class. There are reading assignments for every class and you need to do them. Her exams are easy though and she makes pretty good study guides.

Lectures were pretty boring and rambled on, making note taking difficult. Nothing was too hard or difficult though, and she was a friendly person. It was your basic intro theology course. Her tests were easy- she gives you a clear-cut study guide, but the final required a lot of essay writing. It wasn't hard, just a lot to prep for.

Lectures can get very long and it can be hard to organize your notes. The test are not too hard because a study guide is given but the homework is daily and she expects you to participate or will have you get into groups for discussion of the homework. She is a nice lady but expects everything in her words. Too much for an intro class.

Professor Schaefer is a super nice professor who really loves theology. Her lectures do tend to ramble, but make sure to write everything down and highlight the important parts. Her tests are exactly what is covered in lecture: homework question answers and vocabulary. If you study the material, getting an A in this class should be easy.

Professor Schaefer does expect a lot out of you. You do homework and use that for your in-class discussion so make sure you know the homework content well. The exams have a lot of content but as long as you take a lot of lecture notes and dedicate yourself to studying the study guide you'll be perfectly fine. She's very sweet and has a huge heart

She seems like a really sweet lady, but not a great professor. The lectures are long and boring as she often babbles and goes off to all different topics. She grades really harshly and everything has to be exactly in her words. Would not recommend.

Do NOT take this course if you want an easy A. Lectures are so boring and she goes off on random tangents. Her study guides are confusing and she grades essays extremely harshly. It's hard to stay awake in this class, would not recommend.

Dr. Schaefer is great! We had one paper due the first day that made up 10% of the grade with three exams for the remainder, so it was a tough A, but an easy AB if you go to class and pay attention. She is very clear in her lectures and points out the important things. If you don't do all the reading but take good class notes, you will do well.

Such a nice little old lady that is VERY passionate about Theology. However, she expects way too much out of kids, especially those who may not even be Catholic and do not know about the catholic church. If you study hard for the test, you'll pass.

Worst teacher ive ever had. I'd never take her class again. She expects way too much out of students who have to take this class and its a beginner class. Her essays have to be perfectly her wording otherwise it's wrong. Never take her. Avoid her if possible

She's very passionate about what she teaches you but her exams are extremely hard and specific. She grades essays extremely harshly and it's her way or marked off points. Would not suggest taking her, too many expectations for a beginning Theo class that everyone has to take.

Dr. Schaefer is an extremely passionate and kind professor. The material itself is difficult to get into, but if you participate in class she is willing to boost your grade. One paper, two exams for the semester, and a final. The tests are very detailed but manageable if you complete her study guides. Overall, easy class if you can write well.

Very passionate about what she does, but expects too much out of students for entry level Theo class (usually taken because it's mandatory). Tests are very specific and challenging.

Super particular about essays. I often slept in class but pulled an A because her study guides were thorough and I could follow essay directions. If you ask her a question, she won't directly answer it. But she's passionate about what she does.

She is extremely specific on homework and test instructions. Her lectures can be boring, but she is very into what she teaches. If you follow everything on d2l, you can do well in the class. She's not as bad as many of my friends' Theo professors.

Dr. Schaefer is very passionate about what she teaches and helping her students. She does focus a lot on proper language and certain details, but once you figure out what she's looking for it gets a lot easier. I really enjoyed her class! She's a lot better than all the other THEO professors I had to take while at MU.
