Prof. Barrington is solid teacher. Russian Politics is his expertise and it shows. His lectures and stories are fascinating. He can get onto a tangent for quite a bit and can throw off the entire schedule. His study guides are created in class with student input and the test is guaranteed to have the bear minimum on it to succeed. Fun class!

Dr. Barrington is very knowledgeable and that shows in his teaching. He is very helpful during office hours and such as well. The class is fairly reading heavy and the tests involve a lot of writing. Good class though, I learned a lot.

The worst professor/teacher I've ever had, don't get me wrong he is a great person outside of class. Class was extremely frustrating because we ended up being 2-3 weeks behind! Weekly quizzes covered 60 pages of text with fairly specific questions. I would avoid his class he went on tangents a lot and barley got through his lecture slides.

I had Dr. Barrington for Int Politics. He's a great guy and very knowledgeable in his field. I recommend him to students who are passionate about political science. If that's you, then you'll love his class. His class structure and lectures are very organized. ALSO he puts up most of the essay test questions on the board before the test.

Barrington is a nice guy but his lectures can be boring. Quizzes about once a week that are difficult and are based on the 80 pages of reading he has you do and the questions are very specific. Tests are extremely straightforward. You will know what to expect on the exams.

Good professor, but class was somewhat difficult. Weekly quizzes based off the 75 pages of reading per week or so. MId-term and final are essay-based. Class was interesting, but was boring at times.

One of the best teachers I have had at Marquette. If you are interested in politics, I highly suggest taking him. He lived in Russia and often tells some entertaining stories that do correlate to the class. Weekly quizzes, a midterm, a 5 page paper, and a final which isn't too difficult.

Interesting, provides relevant examples and can be humorous. A lot of reading, made worse by very detail-oriented quizzes. Too set in his ways in grading. You'll lose big points for omitting the exact phrase he wants, making it feel like you need to "dumb down" your writing.
