Simms is the man. Love him or hate him, you'll be hard pressed to not respect him. He's hilarious and always looking to bust your chops. But, he's one of the professors that you don't want to disappoint. He inspires you to work hard.

I was the only pre med in the class and continued to be so as i took him every semester. Will never forget his grin that I was in his class just looking for punishment. Superb professor.

Jim is a dedicated instructor whom I have enjoyed knowing for several years. He has a broad knowledge of history, particularly European history. He blends an arbitray approach to history with good humor. His politics are obviouslly conservative and he does not apologize for that.;

At the beginning of the semester he told the class this story: "When the college was making its non-discriminatory policy, they wanted to add this clause that students could attend without entering into a hostile environment. I had to raise my hand and say 'I teach in a hostile environment and any student is just going to have to live with that.'"
