Funny, engaging, interesting, challenging. His classes give me a mental workout. He won't put up with opinions that are unjustified. Totally awesome!

He has interesting lectures, but he is harsh and does not accept other opinions. Not a lot of work required, but he is a hard grader, unfair in my opinion.

He is a great lecturer, made things interesting in class, but he isn't a great 'teacher' he wasn't helpful at all when I went to discuss the paper, wouldn't answer my questions and doesn't quite like to hear different opinions from his. No feedback whatsoever during the semester, paper worth 60% and a really hard exam! I don't recommend him at all!

Good, seems fair, not enough assignments (one essay worth 50-60% + exam), interesting lectures, great reading material

I love this man. His lectures always give me a high, he stuffs me brain with information of all kinds - no matter how erronous - and he self-indulgently explores all aspects of the chosen (always excellent) reading selection. Though I love the teacher, I wouldn't take his class for an easy grade but for an intellectual orgasm.

he is awesome! he is smart, witty and hilarious! i don't think he likes listening to other people's opinion though. and i don't think he liked me at all, but he is so brilliant, i don't care! oh, and i know it doesn't count. but his accent makes the lecture more enjoyable!

Professor Wilson listens to students and appreciates opinions IF they are well supported. He won't stand for any dumb opinions, especially those stubbornly pursued by obnoxious overly-confident students.

Comment:
Wilson's lengthy lectures are salvaged only by his accent. Syllabus timeline not followed or detailed. Required readings not clearly assigned. Wilson discourages class participation by arrogantly alienating those who disagree with him. Takes forever to mark the final. All that said, he'd probably be great to chat with over lunch.

Students seem to like this teacher a lot, but I don't really see what's to like. His jokes aren't funny, his lectures uninspired and sometimes not pertinent. I've had worst teachers, but i've also had a lot better. You're essays come dripping back in red (although that does not mean you get a bad grade at all, although it may crush your confidence

Wilson comes off as a good teacher (he's funny, moderately-engaging, and has conviction). I didn't like him because, although he does give solid opinions, it's very limited. He uses his literary muscle to dispove student challenges. What you learn of the text is very limited because he doesn't give the broad perspective and doesn't really prepare.

WORST PROF EVER. I hated prof. Wilson because he's arrogant, boring, forces his bias, and apathetic towards teaching. Class discussion is nothing but plot, he teaches you little to nothing about text era, significance, contemporaries, popular criticisms, influences etc. it's all PLOT PLOT PLOT. He would get a bad mark by his own essay standards.

Good lectures, engaging interpretations of texts and rarest of all - worthwhile tangents. I found Professor Wilson entertaining and clever, as well as passionate and very approachable. He's not afraid to expose his biases and to give you his own opinion of what he's teaching, which I really appreciated. Refreshingly candid. An excellent class.

Comment:
This class is very technical and it throws a lot of people off because we're all sort of used to just analyzing without really looking at the basics. I thought he was a harder marker than most profs especially when it comes to in class essays. I don't really dislike him, but I don't really think he was completely fair in his expectations.

My favourite prof, hands down. Loves what he does and knows his stuff. Great sense of humour, not the least bit ridid or stiff. A very fair marker. He knows how to bring out the best in class. Whoever said he has favourites, you're probably one of those who never said a word. Try participating and see what happens.

he's the worst prof at concordia. Arrogant, has favorites and just won't bother with the rest. Tries to show off his knowledge of the classics way too hard, can't believe someone gave this guy a pepper!!!!

Hands-down one of the best professors a student can have. It may not be entirely apparent why, but it is easy to feel that he is nurturing his students' intellectual progress. Can sometimes seem distracted.

approaches texts in a straightforward, no-nonsense manner -- refreshing. humorous, good knowledge of history, willing to give thought 'on-the-spot' to student ideas. won't blast you for expressing a different opinion than his, so long as you're not being bullheaded.
