I have never recieved an email back from him. He shows up late to project meetings. He has almost no organization of what he is going to teach. No one can tell when he is asking a real question because his statements sound like questions and his questions sound like statements. Wants everyone to participate but is quick to diss answers.

Comment:

Expects a lot of class participation and tends to be harsh at times when responding to students' comments. It's hard to tell when he is actually asking a question or what level of abstraction he wants but the answers are usually very simple. The material is pretty easy and the class is a breeze.

Prof. Bergandy doesn't actually provide any guidance for building SD projects. He teaches RUP, but insists groups use Agile--but doesn't teach it. All of the artifacts are RUP as well. He doesn't care about how your projects are progressing--only that the BS reports are grammar-perfect. Expect a NUWC project--we don't help out UMD with our skills.

Professor Bergandy since becoming department head is absolutely worthless as an instructor. Listening to his irrelevant and endlessly off-topic lectures is painful. His assignments for Senior Projects are massive amounts of redundant writing that he doesn't read. The only thing he'll care about is whether you make him look good to the "customer."

A lot has changed, he is the WORST teacher I've ever had. He's always late. Never shows up to class on time... I even started taking notes to see how late he was showing up. I had 12 mins, 15, 10, 12, 2, 2, 9, 5. I emailed him a week before a project was due... He answered my email 15 mins before it was due and responded "come see me"

He is a great instructor with lots of experience in design pattern. If you are really serious about learning design patterns, then you should not miss this class. Always ready to help ! Sometimes, his delivery might work as sleeping pills, but dont miss his valuable words. The only thing is that he is busy person.

This guy is the man. He realy knows what he's talking about and clarifies everything. He realy knows how to related to the students. He's not the easiest teacher in the world, but he'll help you through anything you want and he'll be thrilled about it.

Analogies end up confusing you more than when you began half the time! Explanations get a little obscure, but overall not too bad. Have to see what his exams are like.....
