Never understood why so many Jan is so popular. He's a gifted conductor, but a terrible leader. He has an enormous ego and does not take time to care about the needs of his performers. Case in point - he always holds a dress rehearsal at 9am before a 7pm concert. Guaranteed you'll have tired musicians with blown chops for actual performance.

Jan has really changed this year. He doesn't seem to have any confidence in the orchestra, (evidenced in the repertoire we play!) He also plays favorites BIG TIME in two ways. He favors international and female students, but also has favorites that he picks on disproportionately. This year I have to play on eggshells in orchestra, and I hate that.
