I prefer her way of teaching over Tius anytime. She goes by fast but if you go over the notes that day at home, you will be fine. Do the assigned problems! Those problems will help you do well on the exams! Her curves are also amazing.

Best ochem prof at UH. Assigned non-mandatory HW problems, but is highly recommended you do them bc she likes to put similar Qs on quizzes or exams. Practice exams highly reflect exams and gives you an idea how the questions will be weighted by topic. Although she uploads all lectures, going to class is beneficial bc she explains things well.

Solid advice to get an A+: 1) Print out ALL the lecture outlines she has on Laulima and use them to take notes in class. 2) GO TO CLASS. She will tell you what is and isn't on the test, which will save you hours of studying time. 3) DO ALL HW PROBLEMS 2 OR 3 TIMES. Quizzes and tests have hw questions (verbatim).

Organic chemistry is tough regardless of professor, but professor smith lays her class out according to the textbook (which she wrote) making it very easy to follow along. I didn't buy the text book, however, as most of its material is well enough covered by the lecture. Definitely do practice problems that are assigned

Super nice professor. She's always there to answer questions. Organic chemistry is a difficult class, regardless of professor. Studying is a must to passing. Doing the book work helps with the exam questions. Drops the lowest exam grade or half of the final grade.

She's a horrible professor. She goes so fast, you're better off not going and just teaching yourself. For her exams, she puts things she hasn't gone over really, or things you will only really go over in the lab. After the exams, she's asked the class how she can help the students do better, then says she'll take it into account for next year.

Dr. Smith is an awesome organic chem professor. Crystal clear about expectations so you know exactly what to expect on tests. Assigns hw which is optional. But if you don't do it, you most likely won't pass. If you put in the work, you will get rewarded. Simple as that.

I thought the class was still difficult even though I gave it a lot of attention and studied. I highly recommend BJ Chain for OCHEM he really explained the subject on a level I understood. No pop quizzes, only need to worry about the tests.

Couldn't have asked for a better ochem prof. She goes very quickly through the material, so make sure to review outside of class. Repetition and homework is how you'll pass. She posts up lots of practice exams and notes to prepare you for exams.

Very good professor. I barely went to class and still got an A for both semesters. Book/solution manual are a MUST. very helpful. Took the class with biol275/L & phys 151/L & a 202 level language class. This class definitely took up the bulk of my studying time. Def not an easy A but she's VERY fair and curves are decent. Study, and you'll be fine.

Okay teacher. Definitely covers the info at high speed. If you're deciding to take CHEM 273, I hope you don't bombard yourself w/credits over 15 for the semester. This course has A LOT of info and requires you to study at least 2hrs everyday. Lecture goes by really fast so be prepared. Study your butt off! Also, she is not easily approachable.

Prof. Smith is one of the best professors I've had thus far. Repeats important topics and warns what will be on the exams. Practice exams mirror actual. Lots of studying is required--I studied ~4 days a week, 4 hours at a time. I had lots of free time. If you love puzzles, this class is for you. Note: I am a 3.8 student that does NOT procrastinate.

She is very knowledgeable about the subject and loves to teach it. She has a lot of review material online that are very helpful. They help a lot for the tests, but the tests are still quite difficult. Put a lot of time into the class and actually learn the material and practice, practice, practice! Textbook is a definite must have.

Dr. Smith is a great teacher. Lectures are decent but you MUST attend 4th hr lecture to make sure you do well. She goes over tips and tricks that can help you with problems. Do all assigned problems and make sure you understand how you got to the answer. There are 3 tests and a final which is CUMULATIVE but if you prepared well you'll be fine.

Really good professor! She provides a lot of materials to help you out with the subject (practice problems, practice tests, discussion hours, etc.). In order to succeed you have to attend lecture and do all of the practice material if possible. She basically sets you up to pass but her exams are rather difficult. STUDY STUDY STUDY

Ochem in general is tedious and will require a lot of time and effort to be put into this class so if you're going to take this class I suggest a lighter load Dr.Smith is a great teacher, very passionate about Ochem. I didn't go to lecture, I just read her textbook and did the assignment problems & I did fine! DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS!

I like the way she does her powerpoints - she will upload the outlines and write in notes during lecture. I learn better by doing, but she flys through them, half the time im more worried about what she wrote than what she said. Her tests are HARD. Doing the assignments apparently helps IF you have time to do them.
