This class is basically a word game. If you are interested in Greek, Latin and German roots of all kinds of words, I recommend you to take this class. But if you really want to learn some phenomenology, youd better take another class. Dont get tricked by the class name! It is not phenomenology!

Genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. Lectures can be a bit dry and repetitive, but he tries to keep some energy. Has reading check quizzes, a midterm, and a final. All essay prompts are given in advance for exams. Attendance matters for the most part.

Dr. Ibanez is a really good teacher. He always knows what he's talking about and gives great lectures. The class does tend on being pretty difficult sometimes, but overall it is not the hardest ethics class I have heard of. Expect quizzes, a midterm, and a final. In general, he is very smart guy who teaches the class well. I'd recommend.

Ibanez isn't the best lecturer, but you can tell he tries. With our class, it was boring because no one participated. He says you have to read the textbook, but you don't have to, I didn't even buy it. He quizzes you on short handouts and the essay prompts for the midterm and final are given ahead of time. Overall easy-ish class but kind of boring.

He usually just has handouts that you study from for tests. They are very basic multiple choice questions and are easy As. The final exams have essay questions but he gives you the questions earlier to prepare. Overall a very sweet professor and easy class.

I HIGHLY recommend taking him for Ethics. Instead of making you try to decode the language of philosophers in the textbook, he tests you on summaries he made that are really easy to understand. I didn't finish 25% of the final and he still gave me an AB on it. His grading scale awesome, 83-91% is an AB. Minimal homework, smart guy, great class.

By far the worst philosophy class I have ever been forced to take. Straight up memorization and parroting, classes are agonizing and spent reiterating the same points over and over again. There is absolutely no conversation allowed beyond asking about points in the handout (which he wrote himself). Terrible, would not recommend.

Great professor. Class can be challenging but if you do the readings and are prepared its fairly easy. Tests are difficult only in that he likes a lot of detail in his essays, but if you take good notes they're not bad. Lectures are interesting although he does sometimes get off topic, but his tangents are generally interesting and entertaining.

Dr. Isbanez-Noe is an incredibly interesting individual and really brings something to the classes he teaches. His quizzes usually contain confusingly worded questions, but if the student studies and adequate amount, a B is more than achievable. 7 quizzes, drop the lowest, a midterm and final.

Dr. Ibanez is one of the best teaches I have had so far. He has 7 quizes(Dropping the lowest!), a mid term, and a final. For all of the quizes he gives summaries of the readings, he gives you the essay questions for the mid term and final, and he goes over the material atleast 3 times. TAKE HIM!!!

Interesting professor. You definitely have to do the readings in his class and pay attention during lecture, but his class isn't very hard if you do those things. Has a tendency to get sidetracked with stories about his life, which I personally didn't mind because they were always interesting(but they're still irrelevant to the class)

Probably one of the toughest graders I have seen so far. Very tricky multiple choice. Quizzes every other week 2 exams and a final. I would recommend not taking him. I'll give him credit he tries hard to have us understand but doesn't work.

This class was the worst class ever. I dreaded every second! He is a really nice person, but his class is terrible. I am by no means a fan of philosophy but this class could make a die hard phil person go crazy. He is unclear, his quizzes are ridiculously tricky, and he NEVER throws out questions that are unclear. Don't take him!

He can sometimes be unclear and some of the readings are difficult, but as long as you go to class, take good notes and read and prepare the 3-4 questions before each lecture the class is fairly easy. Just stay on top of everything and pay attention.

dr.ibanez is a reallllly good teacher. I had no interets at all for phil but i looked forward to his class. I felt that I left actually understanding the material. His quizzes and exams can be hard but if you listen to him and read the assigned readings, you will do fine. This is not a class that you can just coast by, you have to put it in the wor

I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Ibanez Noe is not an easy professor, but if you keep up with the readings and take good notes in class, you'll find yourself prepared for quizzes and exams. He is also extremely helpful and provides study guides for exams.
