Do not take this class for an easy A. You have to read 100+ pages for every class, there is quizzes every class, and she is a really tough grader. She should also probably retire... very soon..

There is a lot of reading, but it is all children's books so it is fairly easy. She gives a lot of quizzes which are also easy if you do the reading. She rambles, but it was overall an easy class.

On the first day she'll say that it isn't like other ENG 102 classes. She does everything out of a textbook that no other class uses and makes you read a book about food. The whole curriculum revolves around those 2 books. She's slow when she talks & you can ask her a question but she can go off on a tangent barely relating to your question.

Wacky wacky wacky. She's a bit "out there" but she really does care and is passionate about what she's teaching. She really helps you hear your inner voice..... kinda.

Lots of reading - books are hit or miss. The worst are the lectures, 3 x a week. Take with a different teacher like online with Laura. She is extremely scatter-brained. Not a fan of this class. Ended with a B. Do NOT take this for an easy elective!!

GET READY TO READ. You must read. Most books you can't sparknote and you're tested on specifics. Her lectures are painful to sit through and many of the times she was going off topic and staring off into space. She is an easy grader for essays. Got an A- on both. D on my first test. Ended with a B-. Take with a diff professor if possible

You read at least 100 pgs per night. The books aren't bad but I wouldn't recommend taking this class for an easy A for or for an easy elective. You must put effort in. Sitting through her classes are painful, I wish there were more than 6 allotted absences. She's a crazy old woman. Many books can't be spark noted either.

Got an A on my paper and a D on my test. She grades the essays extremely easily however she tests on many things she doesn't prepare you for and claims that she did. I've had perfect attendance and read the books. She goes off on many tangents and looks out the window. Extremely spacey. She was mad at the class for not doing well on the test

2 Essays 2 tests and oral presentations. She is an easy essay grader but she does NOT prepare you well for tests. 80% of the class got C's and D's on them. Lectures are boring and she goes off on many tangents. The books aren't bad.

I absolutely love reading children's books and that was probably why I was so disappointed. She went off on so many tangents and in her syllabus it says that this is the class's fault. She wasn't a hard grader, but sitting through the class was painful. 2 essays and 2 tests. I got a B+

Her syllabus tells explains very clearly what she expects out of you. There is a lot of reading, but you are in a reading class and there are only 2 3-5 page papers and 3 exams.I needed help getting a source and she went through all her books and found me one. she even emailed me later to tell me she had found 3 more on her free time.

I got an E on my final paper because I wanted to change the topic. She has some crazy rule that you have to meet with her and tell her your topic and if you want to change it, even weeks before its due, she fails you.

She is definitely crazy but is sooo nice. She chooses very good books and loves class participation. I have not done very well on the essays (she does grade very particularly) but got the highest grade on the test...so as long as you read and pay attention in class, it's not that difficult.

Read the books and actually pay attention to them. You are not in 5th grade and reading children's books for fun. Make sure you analyze them as you read and start your essays early so you can ask her opinion on them before they are due. Not an extremely difficult class if you pay attention and do the work.

So, she's pretty much completely crazy, yeah. I don't know, it's not the most impossible class ever. Just read all the books she assigns, pay attention and you can get through. If you make an effort in discussions she'll like you. And personally, by the end of the semester I found her rants having NOTHING to do with anything kind of hilarious..

I wouldn't recommend this professor to my worst enemy. She's crazy. Have fun sitting in a class where she's constantly staring into space, and is no help when it comes to essays and tests. It's her way or the highway. It would probably help her to be a little bit nicer to people too. Have fun!

I wasn't sure how this class was going to go but I loved it in the end. The books our class read were ALL awesome and the professor was awesome. However, the students in my class would not participate so it was a downer but the prof always made sure to keep things going in spite of the students lack of participation. Overall..AWESOME class and prof

First of all, it's English 385 NOT English 101. Congratulations, you are now in college and contrary to popular belief, it's time to actually put forth an effort and apply yourselves! It's disgusting to see future TEACHERS complaining about READING. Do yourself a favor and change your major ASAP if you can't handle intellectual conversations.

What a whackjob! She will spend most of the class staring out the window while we draw circles. I did more interesting things in kindergaten. She has the worst grading system possible. Don't do the homework it isnt worth anything. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!!!
