Reesman is brilliant. I managed an "A," but I enjoy writing. She'll assign a lot of reading. While it may not seem necessary to read ten novels, the final will be a random essay question where you will need to write eight pages (in class) over two of the books, so you need to be prepared. I do not recommend this class for non-English majors.

I do not understand why she has such a high rating. She is a terrible professor. Constantly late and/or absent. She is not clear on what she expects from papers, so don't be surprised if you get a low grade on them. She cheated me out of an A in this manner. Furthermore, she does not update grades on Blackboard.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take her for any classes. Her tests are a joke, and she does not adequately prepare you for what is on them. She's constantly late and/or absent, and she has a bizarre grading system.

Awesome professor. Exams are easy if you keep up with the reading. Gives almost no feedback on exam essays so it's hard to know what she wants for a paper, but she allows up to 10 points for revision. I would recommend her to every English major.

Lectures are not all that enthralling, but the books used in the class were. She never failed to provide adequate background on the reads and encouraged discussion. A couple papers, pop quizzes, and tests, but not generally hard if you keep up with the reading

This professor is very knowledgeable in the subject matter. The only issue that I had was that the lectures focused on the interpretations and meanings of the material while the tests focused more on specific things. You MUST read all assigned material. In this class, you had 2 exams, 2 papers, and random quizzes. Higly reccomend this professor.

This class was interesting. The only issue that I had was that the lectures focused on the interpretations and meanings of the material while the tests focused more on specific things like characters, dialog, etc. A very important point is that you MUST read all assigned material. And ask questions about what will be on tests.

This professor is very knowledgeable in the subject matter. Have taken two courses with her and have enjoyed both. She encourages different interpretations of literature, but she also lets you know when you are off base , which is great because sometimes you can be off base. Definitely admire and appreciate her expertise and knowledge.

Dr. Reesman is an excellent professor. The class is quite busy (each test covers a chapter from the textbook and one of the three readings of the course), but is fun to be in. She is generous with grade curves and actually cares about the students. Attendance IS mandatory. If you need to take a Lit. class for your "core", take this professor!

This teacher is rearly in class. She just puts on a video and leaves. She will lecture 1 or 2 days per test, and gives curves. doesnt use web ct, so it takes forever to get your test grade back, but its a good class, and she is a good teacher.

Not a bad class. We only had one paper, but some of the quizzes were essay. It seemed as if Reesman made spur-of-the-moment decisions on the format of the midterm and final. One was essay and one was multiple choice. Can't say that's how it will be for future classes. Reesman is very smart and knows her stuff. Overall: enjoyable class.

Reeseman is flakey & passive-aggressive. She gave my a very unfair grade on a paper. I loathed going to her class. She was so insincere and creepy. Plus, a grammatical “correction” she made on my paper was wrong -- I checked. I expect more from a PhD. As a person, I really disliked her. Intensely. And that was before she cheated me out of an A.

She is very good at helping you understand the most complicated of poems or books. Her exams are not as easy as you would anticipate but as long as you attend class and take good notes, you'll be fine. I highly recommend taking her during the Maymester if you don't particularly enjoy literature.

SHE HAS HER PETS AND YOU BETTER BE SURE YOU ARE ONE OF THEM. SHE IS NOT EASY BECAUSE TESTS ARE NOT VERY LONG SO YOU CAN'T MISS TOO MANY. SHE'S WEIRD AND HER TEACHING SKILLS ARE LACKING.

You won't get your money's worth with her. She's good at explaining the book, but you don't need to buy them as long as you attend class daily. Her tests are simple for the most part, though not very many questions so each is worth more points. Examples: Who is the author? Who is the publisher? Who said blah blah blah?

SHE IS ALRIGHT. SHE IS FLAKY WHEN GRADING PAPERS. IF SHE THINKS IT IS BAD YOU WILL GET A HORRIBLE GRADE, NOT A MIDDLE OF THE ROAD GRADE. IF SHE THINKS IT IS GOOD, IT IS A DEFINATE A. CANCELS CLASS A LOT!

Very nice and helpful. I expected her senior seminar class to be difficult and boring, but it was fun and super easy. The mid-term and final were easy. She's also easy when grading papers. Take her for whichever class you can.

Professor Reesman is very inteligent. She really focuses on understanding literature by examining the texts and the authors' lives. Her midterm is easy and she grades on a very even scale. I will say that it was frustrating that she often cancelled class. However, she is in the middle of several projects so it is understandable. Good class.
