This class was a hybrid class (only meets 1x per week) so there is a decent amount of work / reading that you must do outside of class, but that's just what comes with a hybrid class. Prof. Goldish was incredibly knowledgeable regarding just about everything you could think of and as long as you read, you'll do just fine in the class.

I took his history of apocalypticism class and really enjoyed it. This class isn't for everyone. It was a 3 hr lecture with really heavy reading. I found professor goldish to be hilarious & extremely knowledgeable. This isn't an easy A but you learn a lot and it will change your perspective on a lot of different world issues. 10/10 would recommend.

Other than the fact that the class was a three hour lecture, I quite enjoyed my time in Professor Goldish's class. The man held my interest for more than half of each lecture, which was much more than I expected for a freshman history class that I was only taking to meet the requirement.

I am astounded every week at just how much this guy knows and loves to learn. He said last week he went several years reading Newton's manuscripts for 5 hours every day. He's written movies and books. Theres a lot of reading and the lectures get boring, but if you want to learn from an actual genius and a successful person, take a class with him.

Professor Goldish is one of those teachers who are way too smart to be spending their time teaching a GE. However, just listening to him talk is almost unbelievable considering his level of knowledge. He assigns an unreasonable amount of readings but if you pay attention in class you'll do fine on the quizzes-he summarizes the readings before quiz

Dr. Goldish is an inspiring instructor. He got me really excited about the history of science and the scientific revolution. I never thought that I would enjoy or learn so much from a history course. Make sure you do your papers in advance, and do some proper research and you can expect a good grade.

Loved him as a professor, very thorough and made mundane topics interesting. Lots of reading but it's a college history class so that should be expected.

God awful professor and class. He seems like a decent guy, but the entire class was structured in a way that promoted horrible scores. Every day it was the same thing: read 50-100 pages of some dense book, listen to a nonsensical lecture where he mentions something that wasn't in the book, then take a 5 question pop quiz over lectures and books

I once came to college with the aspirations and excitement that i would be able to learn from amazing teachers who wanted nothing but for me to succeed. I want to happily inform you that this class has made me realize that my dreams are crushed and there are people out there who want to make you fail and hate your life.

awesome professor however i would rather take an arrow to the knee than take this class again. I have read over 1000 pages and still will end up with a B in the class. If you value your sanity please do not take this class. If you want to graduate with above a 3.0 this class is (in the words of meghan trainer) nah to the I to the no no no

It was the first time he taught this class on Witchcraft and Magic in Early Modern Europe, so I don't want to be critical. He seems like a nice guy, and if you're super into history then maybe he'd be interesting. However, if you're like me and just trying to get a GE credit done, his extensive tangents can get quite annoying.

I took this course thinking it would be different than it was. The whole course was based around the Salem Witch Trials, which I find completely uninteresting. Professor is a cool guy, but material was uninteresting.

I did not recieve the best grade in this class because I turned a paper in late but Professor Goldish might be my favorite teacher at OSU. He is original and interesting. I can't imagine someone knowing more about Jewish history that him.

His lectures were very good and he is an awesome prof, knows practically everything that is available to us right now as far as Jewish history in the renaissance. He grades very hard on the paper and the quizzes were simple as long as you studied the detailed lengthy readings. Not an easy class, hardest Ive taken, but good.

Goldish is awesome - can make the most boring material interesting (or at least he'll try). Demanding class - requires a lot on tests/papers but lenient when grading them.
