Lewis is laid back and doesn't care if you show up to class or not. Everything is done online including homework, quizzes, and tests. If you're wanting to do things on your own and kind of at your own pace this is the class for you. It's basically like taking an online class except you can go to class to ask questions and get help on homework.

I feel if I would have taken his class in class, I may have understood the material more. I didn't show up for the homework review, but the system he uses is difficult to understand what is going on. I had to read every chapter and still don't really understand. He is enthusiastic about the science of measuring a triangle a million ways.

Took trigonometry online. You are basically teaching yourself. Professor Lewis is very responsive if you have questions or get stuck. I would not recommend if you have math anxiety or difficulties. A lot of multiple choice homework. Tests are all in the testing center. Final replaces any lower grades and was easier than the chapter tests.

Very disappointed. I signed up for an on campus math class for a reason. The class ended up being completely online via Hawkes learning system. Class consisted of someone just signing in to their profile and him assisting with homework. There was no "teaching". If you're good a math, this is the class for you! Tons of homework!

He is a great teacher, he tries to end class 15 mins early so people with questions can ask them on a one on one bases. I personally like the class being web based because I was able to go at my own pace, yes there are deadlines but you can get ahead so you have no homework on weekends.

I signed up to take a classroom class, but he made it to where EVERYTHING was done entirely online via Hawkes Learning System. We meet in class and he would go over the hmwk that would need to be done ONLY by doing the hmwk rather than thoroughly explaining HOW to do everything. Skips steps in problems assuming we knew what to do.

basically, he's a lazy "teacher". i wish i had read these reviews beforehand... he doesn't even teach. you come to class and he slowly moves along and answers questions. i've never been a strong math student so to pay to have to teach myself all of the material is outrageous and frustrating. on principle, i strongly suggest you don't take his class

Took this class online in 8 weeks. Homework is easy but it's there for every section of the chapters so it's a lot. Exams are straight from the homework. Make sure to do really well on the final exam because that replaces all the lower quiz exam scores & can really help. But also do well on the homework because those don't get replaced!

Very responsive teacher just do the assignments and try your hardest. It does suck having to take the tests at the testing center but the last test you can take at home and it really can bump up your grade. Good teacher I just HATE math and absolutely suck at it so the class I didn't enjoy but he's a good teacher.

I like Professor Lewis, I took this class online and I learned a lot. As long as you do all the homework and quizzes you should be alright. One thing about online class is He gives you 2 attempt on Exams.

Prof Lewis' class isn't hard. Do not get the book,do the online homework and quiz's, and find a tutor in the MRC (Thomas is a perfect tutor) and you will pass the class. If you do not have some what of a strong math background then Prof Lewis' class isn't for you.

One of the worst "teachers" I have ever had. All he does is stand in front of the class and talk endlessly about nothing. Uses a software program to do his teaching, because Lewis does not like interacting with students. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

His calculus 1 class should only be taken if you have previously taken calculus. He never actually teaches and basically leaves all the learning to the students at home and for a course as difficult as calculus that's quite difficult. In my class the majority of students had taken calculus prior to this session so he really didn't even try to teach

His calculus class is very difficult if math isn't your forte. Every bit of work is done outside of class so its a ton of work. The chapter exams are jokes, they are the easiest things in the world. But I almost cried when I looked at the final, its worth so much of your grade if you're not studying a month in advance kiss your A good bye.

Took this class over the Summer...big mistake. We were averaging 2 classes a DAY. Final is weighted VERY heavily-can trash your whole grade. I busted my butt and had a 98% going into the final exam, which is 40% of your final grade...insane! I got a low B on the cumulative and ended with a B for the semester. Take someone else that grades fairly...

Awful, awful teacher. Expects you to learn everything from the book and come to class and ask questions. Doesn't teach anything himself and expects you to learn everything on your own. Most laughable "teacher" ever considering he does absolutely nothing and the student is the teacher in this class. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Online college algebra requires a lot of motivation! The class is taught through the computer software you buy so there is hardly interaction with the class or prof. If you put the time into it you should be fine but you are basically teaching yourself. Lewis is helpful when called upon but there is very little room for error on exams or homework!

Lewis is probably the worst teacher i have ever had. He says read the book and come with questions. Who does that? There are no notes and few examples. I have been good at math my whole life, but had to drop his class. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Mr. Lewis was a decent teacher. You do a lot of the learning on your own, then ask questions in class. The class I took was great because all the tests were online and multiple choice and you could correct mistakes for partial credit it was hard to do bad on a test. He wasn't incredibly clear on everything, and he was kind of boring. He wasn't bad.

Uses an unusual style. If you work hard- do reading, problems, and ask questions, then you will learn more than you ever thought you would (or could).
