Ruth was super sweet, caring, and loved answering any questions you had for him. If you are struggling go to his office hours, that's what they are for don't struggle if you don't need to.

I was intimidated at first, since the class was only taught in Spanish but if you pay attention you really pick up the language. The only negative about this course is the amount of homework. It is unrealistic. Hours worth of homework after every lecture.

Ruth is a great person and a good teacher. 95% of the class is in spanish, unless he wants to explain a certain rule or something specific that is important, he will use english. The only con to this class is the amounts of homework you receive. I had this class T-Th and over 3 hours of homework is due for almost every class.

Very intelligent man, knows a variety of languages and uses examples to convey the material. A lot of projects, and homework is usually insane, like 50+ linguistics problems which ends up taking 2 hours to complete. Typically shows up late to class, and keeps students past dismissal because he doesn't finish the classwork.

He is a nice person.. But he can not teach that is as simple as it gets. Also, he randomly cancels class.. I would avoid this professor and register for a Spanish course with a professor that is a native speaker of the language.

This professor has a poor approach in teaching students a language. He is the department mangers of the modern language department and I think he takes his job way too seriously for a INTRO level course.. He only speak in Spanish... I don't know what is going on.. I am fluent in 2 other languages and I learned Arabic by learning it in English FIRST

Nice guy. His class is taught in Spanish only. he rarely breaks back into English. If you pay attention to what he says you'll have no problem getting a good grade. he repeats himself over and over so you can pick up the language and how you should be saying it.

I havent had him for a class yet, BUT he did help me out with an important issue. I needed to retake a frech class that was 20 years old and had a different title and catalog number. He took care of the grade change when enrollment services would not...and did it the next day! No other dept at ESU does that.I needed that done and he pulled through!

What a wonderful professor. He gives homework everyday that corresponds with the day's lesson. He really wants you to succeed in Spanish. He is very helpful and is quite funny. Don't be frightened by the fact he only speaks in Spanish during class, he does not say anything you cannot understand and he is not trying to confuse you or embarass you!

I've had professor Ruth for 4 years. Cons are that he is extremely unorganized. I understand because of all his tasks but it makes it harder for us. He also is a C or D grade teacher. Pros are his intellect. His knowledge seems endless. He seems bored at the university. He should be doing something more important. But deep down he cares.

He's a nice guy and good teacher. His quizzes can be easy if you study. The tests can be really hard. There is homework every night. You will learn a lot from him. Though it requires a lot, I would recommend taking him for Spanish II.

Best Spanish professor ever. I really learned Spanish wiht him. I now teach Spanish because of Dr. Ruth. He is definitely the man. Class was hard but that's what it takes to learn people.
