Comment:

Truly the most amazing professor I have experienced. Take him before he retires! He's funny, down to Earth, makes sure you understand the concepts at the most basic and advanced levels, and is super caring and understanding. You have to read, but what he uploads are practically what are on the tests.

Amazing professor! Take him in the spring semester before he retires. No homework but you will need to read two books, and all of the documents he uploads onto blackboard. This class offers concepts that can be used in life and is much more than your standard class. His tests are hard; you better make sure you know the concepts.

This guy is the all time G.O.A.T. He makes it clear that in life, nothing is ever one thing or another, vice versa. There will always be light, even in a room that is pitch black. This dude deserves a freakin' Nobel Peace Prize. Take this class. F the grade you get, just take the class.

He was definitely the most animated and caring professor I have had at Northwood. You had to participate and actually read the material, but he chose interesting novels instead of the normal textbooks. He relates all material to relevant things in the media and television and makes sure you understand what he is trying to say.

It was not a typical English class but in a good way. We talked a lot about interesting topics and he is very funny and amusing professor. Quite a bit of critical thinking and less writing papers. Discussion was sometimes more important than actual readings so I suggest going to class. Overall, it was difficult but I loved his teachings

If you put in the work this class is pretty easy. Professor Phillips is that quirky professor that everyone needs to experience. He will have you laughing all the time. He can seem confusing with his choice of words but if you ask questions he is happy to help. Don't stress about writing papers he just wants to see if you reading and thinking.

One of the most difficult english classes I've taken but also one of the most unique. Phillips is very funny and open in class which makes it exciting but is a tough grader. This was my first time not getting an A in an english course but the class overall was not that bad to endure. Read the books he assigns though or you will be lost.

Mr. Phillips is a great professor. He is extremely helpful. Tests are some what difficult (the m/c, t or f, & fill in the blank) but the essays are based on how well you defend your answer. He has great stories & quotes! Makes you want to go to class, even at 8am. Can't stress enough how helpful he is. Very smart too! Be ready to work though!
