Ms. Bauman is a very dedicated and passionate prof when it comes to teaching English. She is extremely knowledgeable in her area of expertise which is gothic literature in this case. She talks a lot about small details that can't found in the summaries and also goes over a ton of writing tips including grammar. She is a solid prof overall.

Go to class as she takes attendance. Rambles on in class and just summarizes the stories for you. Easy marks as you don't really need to listen to pass. very dry boring class but worth it if you just need the mark

I took English 100 with Susan, and despite what many may say of her she is a wonderful prof. I will admit she isn't the quickest at responding to emails, however she is very approachable in the classroom and was always willing to answer any of my questions. Her grammar assignments are easy marks, and so are the quizzes. I highly recommend this prof

I really like this professor. She is very helpful outside of class hours, and she is also a very understanding professor. Susan is one of the few professors that actually cares for students. So if you have the option to take a class with her, I would highly recommend this instructor!!

Susan is a good teacher and very helpful Textbook is not really needed as i took out most of the prints for poems and stories. Attend her class as grammar becomes easy and you have 2 tests based on that. Essay total 3 to submit but you can take help from her before final submission. Liked her.

Susan gives amazing feedback, usually a page or longer on essays and midterms. She is always available for extra help on grammar assignments and essays; will basically mark the assignments in front of you and tell you how you can make it a stronger essay. She does take a long time to hand things back, but she spends all her time marking or she claims

How is this professor allowed to teach? She never hands anything back on time, does not reply to emails, is disorganized, and always late. I learned nothing, and I took this class expecting to improve my writing. Her feedback is useless. This class was such a waste of money and time. Thank you for lowering university standards.

She was the worst prof I've ever had. Didn't receive 2 of my essays back and she won't reply to my email in which I asked for my marks. Lectures are boring and I think it's disrespectful to not have assignments marked. We wrote 2 midterms are for the second one I only had 1 prior essay to look back on. TERRIBLE

One of the most disorganized profs I've ever had. Her slides jump around and are extremely hard to follow. She takes months to correct assignments.

Susan gives great feedback... when you get it (I'm still waiting on my grade from an assignment I handed in in January... it's almost April). Her lectures are incredibly boring, so it was hard for me to focus. She seems extremely disorganized; we spent 3/4 of the semester discussing half of the plays so now we're rushing the last 3.

I took her for my Shakespeare Tragedies class and she was very passionate about him. She was clear about what she wanted from us in class and in the essays. There were pop quizzes about the plays that we had to read, but they aren't that hard, if you do the reading. Also, if you have a valid reason for missing class (injury) she understands.

Horrible at getting assignments back to students. Can barely read her writing if you even get your assignments back. Shrill voice. If attendance wasn't mandatory, I wouldn't have even bothered showing up. As for the final, good luck. You'll need it.

If you are looking for a class that will make you a better essayist, this is it. Her class is not easy, but she knows how to write, and she does attempt to help anyone and everyone in anyway she can. She gives incredibly detailed feedback on your essays, and allows for two rewrites to better your writing. Not for the unsure or meek writer.

Susan seems like a very nice lady outside of class, her lectures for 251 were not helpful (she started discussing analysis essays on the day they were due). She would get off topic very quickly and most of the stuff she was talking about was common sense. To be fair her main focus is Victorian Lit and such so maybe a class like that would be better

Although Susan may be a boring prof, you can easily tell that she is very compassionate about her her job and her topics especially in poetry. Very easy marker, everything is clear on the syllabus on what to do. Annoying voice though.

Professor Bauman's class was a very mixed bag. On one hand, she was very approachable and marked fairly. However, she was very disorganized and took forever to hand back assignments. She lost one of my essays and some students hadn't even gotten their midterms back by the final exam! There are worse profs, but she was shamefully disorganized.

Dr. Susan Bauman is not a prof I would recommend taking any class from. In her work corrections you can find spelling errors. She has no concept of time and frequently goes over her time slot, rambles about irrelevant nonsense, and moves the slides too quickly for you to write down the terms she is trying to define. Her penmanship is horrendous.

She tries to pick interesting pieces. MidtermsExams are pretty straight forward. She does take an extremely long time to hand back assignments. Her voice is also slightly irritating. Learned a lot about grammar (minus the first few weeks) that I was never taught before. Overall one of the better English profs.

Susan is awful at handing back assignments, and she actually lost my midterm. She is very rushed and it never feels like she could get through what she wanted. Most of the time was spent in group discussion and then talking about the group discussion so class on the first two days of the week were boring. I would not take a class from her again.
