Definitely one of my favorite professors. Funny, incredible class discussions, open minded, encouraging, fair, everything good a professor could be. If you skip, she won't care, but your loss because the classes are awesome. Encourages feedback and very eager to work with students outside the class.

The very best teacher I have ever had!! I learned more in one semester with Dawson than I have in 15 years of school! She is absolutely brilliant and really cares about teaching! SO passionate about lit. and truly cares about the education and well being of her students! Take Dawson!

I had her for two different American Lit classes. Not only did I learn a lot from discussion, but she taught us that we each have something to add to the interpretation of the text and not to rely solely on the "experts." She cares for all students and although she has high standards, she's very happy to meet during office hours. Outstanding!
