Cowboy Mike is an excellent teacher. A few things to remember, he lectures, so there is very little interacting with the class. Second, you must record the reviews and listen to them over and over. It's your best bet. Lots of extra credit opportunity. But he's not gonna hand you an A, you have to earn it.

Really nice guy, pretty easy class. Write down everything he says during the review and you should get A's on all the tests. Took during summer and everything was fast paced but still a pretty good class. Record his reviews and listen to them over or transcribe them and you should get an A. Pretty much reads the test to you. Really great guy

Lectures were a little fast, but this was summer. I attended all classes, taped his review and made 100 on two exams and 97 on a third. Exams are not hard, he gives a review the day before the test and tells you everything on the test. I hate history, but found myself repeating the stories he told to my family. I was interested.

Cowboy Mike is a very Cool teacher! He doesn't refer to the book much but he has his own way of teaching. At the beginning of the term he tells you to invest in a tape recorder, which is definitely recommended!! He gives reviews before every test and if you record them you will definitely get an A! Review=his study guide!

I dunno what happened to this guy, but taking this class was the biggest pain. Wasn't enthusiastic about teaching. Tests were extremely hard and he gave out NO study guides. Seemed like a nice guy and a fair teacher, but he acted like he was tired of teaching.

Cowboy Mike is one of my favorites! Had him for both sections of African American History. He's really helped me with my own knowledge of history and my writing (during his office hours). He's very fair and fun. Take him if you get the chance, but read and take good notes. His test are a little hard, but there arent any surprises

Simply AMAZING! I've never been interested in History prior to taking Cowboy Mike, but he's changed that, I remember everything I've learned bc of his passion for the subject. People who don't get an A must not record and study his reviews...ALLLL of his tests come straight from the review and u can rent a recorder for free at media services.

BEST TEACHER EVER! I loved his class and would take it anyday, every day! he looovess his job, class, and students! He gets you so involved in his lectures and you makes you want to go to class! very fair! gives reviews to all tests, midterms, movies, and final! buy a recorder for the review days- so helpful! he's a must take at asu!!

Fair teacher. I managed to pull off an A in this class, but I had to study. That's for sure. Just record his reviews and study them. His test questions usually come word for word out of his review. Overall, he was a great teacher, and I would take him again if I had the chance.

Cowboy Mike is the bee's knees. Summer courses = a lot of material packed up in one, but you'll survive. Recording the test review lectures will be your saving grace. Transcribe them, then read the section it's attributed to. Tests aren't easy if you don't prepare. Extra credit happens, & he does talk mega fast. Overall a great professor to take.

Tests are rather difficult, going from his lectures was hardly enough to getting a decent grade on the tests. I did however find it helpful to go from the key terms in the chapter reviews and outlining the chapters to be a lot more helpful(just really time consuming to do, but if you do it it pays off).All in all lectures were interesting.

WONDERFUL!! TAKE HIM!! Lectures are long, and boring (sometimes, it depends on who's in your class and how fun yall make it). While you are in the class you may think it is so boring and just ugh. But once you leave his class you will still remember most of the information.. Make sure you take him for history!!!

lectures are really dry- he talks too fast to write down the lectures. test only come from the information from review day and has a few assignments that are easy. he has extra credit oppurunities but they are never based on students availablity. Shows no mercy when giving final grades, I deserved an A, but ended up short and got a B.

Cowboy Mike is the BEST history instructor ever! REVIEW DAY is key, bring a recorder, write as much as you can during review, then listen to the recording. He talks extremely fast during lecture, has a great laugh, the movies are pretty good, and the tests are not bad as long as you record and review. I got an A and never read the chapters!
