Comment:

Stats is confusing enough but add jennifer duncan as the instructor and feels like you have entered the twighlight zone. She is nice enough but had no patience for any student who did not get it right away. We would tell her we were struggling and she just stared blankly at us. Again, nice lady but horrible class. She had no time for me.

Comment:

this class was arduous to get through, not necessarily because of the difficulty of the material but because of the difficulty of having to sit through her lectures. EXTREMELY BORRRRRING. Ms. Duncan is nice enough, seems passionate about math, but I reccomend you look elsewhere for a professor if you intend to actually learn this stuff.

I took Ms. Duncan based on reviews here for stats and I have to say she is the most confusing, flaky, irresponsible teacher I've had at SF. She shows up late, gets irritated when you ask questions and goes off on tangents. Most students felt they were teaching themselves the material instead of learning from her.

I took ms. Duncan as a result of the reviews I read here for her 1033 class. I must implore you to look elsewhere for a professor. I have never experienced a class that has tested my patience as much as this class has. Her teaching style is scattered and ineffective. Going into the final exam I feel unprepared as a result of her schedule.

Mrs duncan is a horrible teacher if you plan on taking any other stats class....only got thru 7 chaps then skipped to end of book...didnt explain things well...but lowest test dropped and 30 extra credit points...you dont learn anyhting and still get an A or B

shes not that bad. The 3 tests are 100 points and the lowest is dropped. The final is worth 200 points. 50 points extra credit showing up + three quizes that are 10 points extra credit. Thats up to 20% of your grade in extra credit, if you couldn't pass this class you didn't try.

Jennifer Duncan should have her teaching license revoked. horrible teacher. tests on material she never taught, always late, talks about following the grateful dead, she acts like a hippy drug addict, shes weird and has no business teaching. her class is not easy, most of the people in my class got below 70's on all the tests. she is awful.

THIS TEACHER SUCKS! We only made it through 7 chapters when she decided to skip all the way to end of the book. Not only this she never even taught the material but we are tested on it. She is really horrible when you ask a question not helpful at all. Please do not take her you will regret it.

ABSOLUTLEY HORRIFIC. The WORST teacher I ever had. Learned nothing, students had no voice, and the lady was drugged up on something every class. Came to class late a lot, likes to drink ?Coke-Cola?, and strays off topic all the time. This class was A WASTE of my time and money.

Next week, she came in late again 30 mins, she told us her roommate had died. She barely got through the book and ran out of time. Didn?t hand out syllabus, it?s a free for all Pro?s: She gives easy exams, extra credit, and also releases class early about 15 mins every day.

Cons: Duncan was 30+ min late on many occasions including exam dates, her cell phone rang all the time in class, she often got off topic, fell asleep during our exam SNORING. One day she was late, she told us she was really upset because her cat had died and she thought her roommate had something to do with it. Next week, she came in late again 3

Mrs Duncan is a good teacher and an easy A even if you're not good in math, but if you are planing to take a higher, more difficult level, i don't recommend her cuz you dont even get to cover 1/3 of the book. We ended in ch5 so its useless if you need the math material to build up your skills for a harder math But if just want for req then take her

Goes out of her way to be helpful-off topic often-frustrated when folks don't try-rewards liberally if she knows you are trying-gives attendance points-redemption quizes to supplement test grades-HW not graded but expected and helps on tests-overall really great-offers office hours even if you aren't in her class for extra help.

Mrs. Duncan explains everything inside and out and step by step.. She is an awesome teacher! If you are struggling with math I recommend this teacher, highly!

Makes you take notes from a transparency while she's talking, and at times gives some examples, leaving a person a little behind at times. Trys to be helpful, but the help she gives tends to be even more confusing. Tests are pretty difficult if you don't do the homework problems at least 4 times a piece. This class is very hard in itself.
