It was a great class. Make sure to do extra credits, cuz they help you a lot at the end. All the detail terms from lectures can be on the tests, so be prepared for that.

Prof Malone is amazing!! She's so sweet and really cares about her students and the class material is actually really interesting. There aren'tmany assignments but the ones that we have are fun. She talks sometimes about celebs but it's great everyone loved it! Shes an easy grader and you'll do fine if you pay attention in class. Highly recommended

other people teach the class for her, including the students. She's a really nice prof, but teaches things i can just google and learn in a quick second. Thought I had an A and ended up getting a b because of the final project.

You go to class to hear gossip from an industry veteran. She's awesome, but if you're looking for a profound experience, look elsewhere. Also, tests are difficult but she's an easy grader and you always manage to do alright.

Kind of a waste of a class... you could learn everything from just reading the book. She's nice enough though and it's an easy class. and like omigod did you know that she like saw cameron diaz on newbsss ohhh em geee

Seriously? I wish BU would find a new professor for this class...it would have been a good class if we ever had it. I am paying so much money to go to BU and she canceled this class more then we had it.She was so weird. She would show up, lecture for an hour (its a three hour class) and then make some weird excuse about having to leave.

I don't think she was a bad prof. but she is so ambiguous about stuff. She totally pretends like your grade will matter about certain things, and then totally changes it. I liked the class but I think I would have learned more if she had spent more time teaching and less time getting knocked up.

Great Class. Everyone else is being way too hard on her. Great class if you are in SMG. Books are interesting and the lectures aren't bad at all. Project was difficult, but rewarding. If you actually put forth some effort you will find that the project is not that hard. This was my first COM class, and I think I will take more.

I agree what everyone else has said. Be aware that for as little teaching as she, she grades 10 times harder. 35% of your final grade is a group project, so even if you do well the whole semester, your grade can crash the last day of class for no apparent reason other than you didn't have a pretty enough presentation. Also picks favorites.

the only thing i learned from the class was from reading variety. lectures are boring an not informative. lots of reading that never gets discussed in class. she assigns too much busy work that have no relevance to class. tests are hard compared to her lectures. i would NOT take this class again.

Essential subject, AWFUL, AWFUL course. Malone spends most of the class gossiping about celebrities. If I wanted that kind of garbage, I'd have subscribed to People Magazine. Also, lots of bland, busy work. Avoid.

Knows nothing / teaches nothing. I learned more in two hours from one of the course books than an entire semester's worth of class! Assignments and tests are redundant as well. Shows up maybe half the time; avoid at all costs.

Although I did have some previous understanding of the workings of the Film Industry, Jen Malone was very nice, easy (if you actually just read the books AND they are ridiculously interesting)...and FUNNY as hell...first 30 minutes of every class is like everyone dissing each other's favorite movies

Jennifer is nice enough, the class is very laid back, and for the most part is quite interesting. However, she can be a bit on the flaky side and is unclear in what she wants as far as papers/projects go. The class is worth taking however, and I really did learn a lot about the film industry.

Easiest A I've ever gotten. Take this course. Very little work at all. A total breeze. She shows up maybe half the time. Guest lectures and final project was fun.
