Comment:

I LOVE THIS MAN!!! By far one of the most intelligent professors I've had. His class is never boring. Does the BEST displays. His class offers a ridiculous amount of XCred. Tests are very fair, MC are difficult and tricky, but open-ended are straight forward. Weekly quizzes in REC are fairly easy and helpful. I'm a Physics Buff and LOVED him!!!

Comment:

Dr.Levy is a good professor who genuinely cares about his students. However, the lectures were not helpful at all. The midterm exams were easy, and with tons of extra credit, he is the best physics professor by far. The final exam was near impossible, but did not affect grades at all.

Decent and funny professor. You'll have to teach yourself a lot, but that would be true for any intro to physics professor. Gives a lot of extra credit. I'm pretty sure the final exam was a practical joke he played on pre-meds to make them feel dumb, but it didn't actually affect final grades in any way.

Comment:

Very nice and very funny but NOT a good lecturer. You really won't learn that much from lecture and will need to put time in teaching yourself concepts and problem solving techniques. Extra credit is helpful.

Comment:

The lectures aren't interesting, because he simply reviews what can be found in the textbook. If he incorporated a different approach to teaching, perhaps by getting more in depth in the concepts and working out many more problems without relying on slides, learning would be greatly increased. Overall, he means well!!!

Dr. Levy is super nice and tries really hard to make a boring subject entertaining. I honestly felt lost in this class the whole semester, got a B average on all the exams, and ended up with an A+ because he lets you drop your lowest midterm grade and gives A TON of extra credit (~10% added to your final grade). Best option for physics by far.

Levy is a genius who is working on creating the next superconductor. As a result I think he isn't really cut out to be an intro prof. He uses clicker mandated lectures to show lots of youtube videos and do demonstrations. Didn't learn much in lecture BUT he gives a ton extra credit. I got C's on all the tests and with the curve got an A.

Levy is awesome. Passionate about physics and he brings his energy into lecture. Has fun demonstrations and he's super funny. This class is a lot of work expect weekly homework and quizzes.. but I got an A so it's possible to do well.

I am only going to say this once TAKE LEVY! He's the man!! I never had physics in highschool but took him and got an A because of all the extra credit and stuff. Tests aren't too bad and concepts come up alot so they can help you because the math is god awful.

though a boring subject, dr. levy made the most out of what he can. lectures were cut and dry, but his experiments were hilarious. tests werent hard. recitation grades depends on the ta teaching. not too difficult to achieve an a+ with a little bit of work

Never took physics in high school so this class was stressful. Homeworks are impossible and pointless. Partial Credit is key. Very nice guy who has a brilliant mind. Demonstrations are entertaining and likes to crack jokes. Learned some stuff but studying is somewhat pointless because 10 multiple choice and 3 open ended = SOL....feeling lucky?

Great teacher, does entertaining demonstrations and seems very enthusiastic about physics. He's also not out to fail everyone, he gives out A's like candy and if you work hard in the class you know you can do well.

I dislike physics in so many ways. Lectures were hard to follow because we were always about 3 chapters ahead of the homework and exams but he does give a lot of extra credit. I did almost all of it and ended up with an A- (unexpected considering I got C's on the tests and I think I failed the final!)

Comment:

Best physics prof from what I have heard. Tons of XCRED. do it because it is definitely worth it. Made lectures interesting, with about 3 examples per class that were both fun and funny. Plus youtube videos he made a great.
