Comment:
In the beginning, it is extremely slow and easy especially if you have taken physics before, but the class ramps up after the first midterm. He gives out lecture notes at the beginning of class which makes it easy to drop off the homework, grab the notes, and leave. Homework isn't too bad.

Hard class but Licnini makes the grading procedures easy enough for the class to pass.(the curve saves lives)

If you have any physics background at all, Phy 011 with Licini is a walk in the park. Homework grading is mostly participation and online work is a joke. Tests can be a tad challenging if you don't prepare. Be careful at the end of semester, a lot of difficult material is covered in a short time, stay on top of it or your grade can slip.

Great Physics 2 Professor. Keeps the problems simple and nothing is unneccesarily hard (because the course is hard enough to begin with). Great curve in the class.

It is a difficult class, but he is a great professor that will really do his best to help you learn the material. He tries to keep things interesting with various experiments throughout the year. Also there is a massive curve so don't drop out if you think you are doing poorly

I had Licini for both Physics 11 and 21. The classes are really really hard but the curve makes it okay. I got a 55 on my exam and it curved to a B- I really do learn a lot in the class but the information is just hard by nature. Must take Licini!

Licini is the BEST Physics teacher I've ever had in my life. He explain things so well during lectures and he will give every one different study strategy suggestions if you approach him during office hours, which works perfect for me. He is THE BEST. Definitely choose him for either PHY 11 or 21.

I came in having already taken a Physics I at another university over a summer, but was really weak on the concepts, and Licini's class helped me understand the concepts a lot better. There's homework every lecture, but only a few problems and they all apply the concepts well. His grading system is great and he really wants you to do well.

Took him for phys 11 in the fall fresh year. one of the best professors yet I've had. I took physics in high school, so not much background. Did OK on the exams and still got a good grade. He definitely curves the class, so don't worry. Recitations are very helpful, attendance is taken, and pop quizzes given. You have to have in homework in lecture

Licini takes a notoriously hard class and makes it fun to learn. He's enthusiastic about teaching and makes sure to logically explain how things work. If you're confused, ask for help; he's very patient with confused students. If you're a visual learner, he even puts the effort to do demos in class to see the physics at work.

Physics 21 is a very difficult course but Licini does an excellent job of explaining everything. Going to class is very helpful. He posts notes online but they can be hard to read and don't mean as much without going to class. He curves to a B+ so he wants everyone to succeed.

Physics 2 is a naturally difficult course to conceptually understand. He does his best and is available basically whenever you want him to be. He curves the class to a B+ so just show up so you understand whats going on a little and you'll be fine.

Took for Physics 1 and 2, enjoyed him for both. His lectures aren't the most exciting but they're important and packed with info. Gives pretty good examples of material and exams are fair. Posts notes on CourseSite and good with communications. Homework due every lecture but it's the best way to learn it. Can't go wrong with Licini.

Took physics in high school so I didn't have much trouble, but I still think the class wouldn't have been too bad if I hadn't. The class is curved to a B+ and he also prints out notes for every lecture.

Licini knows what he's doing. Been doing this for a while, so can relate to students even in a big lecture hall. Well organized class, assignments fair and helpful, lectures clear with pre-prepared notes and many demonstrations. No complaints for an important intro class

Professor Licini explains physics very thoroughly, which can be boring if you know the topics but very useful if you're unfamiliar. Be aware that he doesn't write on the blackboard but uses pre-printed note sheets and overhead projectors. Also, he sometimes brings interesting demonstrations to lectures.

If you want to LEARN Physics, he wont teach you anything. When I had him years ago, all problems he did using numbers. Physics is about manipulating VARIABLES not numbers. Numbers are for computers to compute. Don't let him kill your passion for physics. Watch lectures from Walter Lewin from MIT - the best physics professor ever (google him).

Very good teacher who knows his subject well. You will need to supplement lecture notes with textbook reading for most of the units, however it is not that hard to keep up with the coursework.

Professor Licini's notes and semi-slow style of teaching were helpful to learn the basics of the content. Attending recitation and reviewing on your own with the book is a necessity though to understand the homework and to become adept at the material. Exams were pretty difficult but I got A's because I studied for a LONG time with the textbook.
