I actually didn't do well in Professor Bower's course at first. He even recommended that I drop it at one point. However, once i really buckled down he was helpful and actually gave fairly interesting lectures for a topic that I think is, at times, hard to get people interested in.

Great guy... nice, clear, funny, interesting. Weird test routine, semi-hard grader. I never read the book. Tests are all based on class notes and hand-outs.
