One of the best teachers I have ever had at MCC. If you go to her class every day and are not dumb about stuff she will like you. She incorporates her personal experiences into her lectures which makes the lessons a lot more interesting.

Shes super sarcastic but not really in a good way. Sometimes I cant tell if shes being real or not. She makes Geology really interesting and shes really cool but she can sometimes be a little blunt

Would not recommend, take GEO with Colosimo instead. You will be scared to ask questions or to be called on since she will make you feel like an idiot and embarrass you in front of everyone. She has a sarcastic sense of humor which often times comes off as cold and mean. It's hard to tell when she's joking or not because of it.

I am NOT a science person, but professor Barone still made it possible for me to pass. She's very kind, funny, and really does want her students to succeed. You have to work hard, but if you do, it's possible to get a good grade. 10/10 would recommend taking her class.

Barone is the type of teacher who can take a subject that may not be the most interesting, and make it relatable for everyone. She gets sassy and frustrated sometimes, but only if you're acting like an idiot in the first place. She's always willing to help. Highly recommend.

I see professor Barone as a good professor with good intentions, but she comes off as a very rude and condescending person. She makes awful jokes that seem sarcastic and mean. If she calls on you in class, just hope to god you don't get it wrong because she will make you look stupid for not knowing the answer. I dont recommend taking her course!

Barone is an amazing professor, to the point where Geo became the highlight of my day. She is a great teacher, and if you pay attention, take notes, and study, you should have no worries about you're success in it. She managed to take a class as seemingly boring as geology and made it a blast and a half. I see more geo classes in my future

Comment:

Barone was a good professor, and if you study and participate you'll pass. However, as the semester progressed it irked me how rude she could be. I understand she has a sarcastic sense of humor, but her overt sarcasm was often annoying and distracting. Her sarcasm can be funny, but after a while she's just snotty and should to stop.

Professor Barone was a very good teacher! She is willing to help and answer questions whenever necessary. She is very knowledgeable and keeps the class very interesting! I would recommend this class to another student but studying, being prepared, and attending class are a must in order to do well in any class. Her stories are the best! Wonderful!

As everyone else has said, you need to put work into her class to get a good grade. She does do a good job of keeping it pretty interesting, but lecture is purely a powerpoint. Rarely use the textbook aside from a few times in class. Her field trips are a blast though, especially if you are interested in the subject. Expect to memorize a lot!

I only had Barone for lab but she was very down to earth and funny. She's only hard on you when your not putting in the effort. Shes always available for help and someone to talk to. This lab you HAVE to study for or you will not do well.

Professor Barone was my favorite professor! She kept geology fun and interesting. I do not recommend this class to anyone who does not want to work hard. you will most likely fail the tests if you do not study and attend lecture or lab!!!
