Spring 2017 for macroeconomics. I found it difficult to stay awake in this class. Most if not all homework is assigned online through McGraw Hill's Connect, a terrible invention. He constantly reminded his students to watch his "vee-dee-o's" online to reinforce what we learned in class. I tried watching them but boredom overtook me. The accent

He is a nice man. The tests are extremely hard no matter how much you read, study, or watch the videos he assigns. Nothing matches up with what you learn. His lectures are a little boring and scattered. Test is different from what you learned. He is nice and helpful but if everyone in the class is lost and confused then it is useless.

This teacher is horrible and I will never take him again. The tests are not related to anything he teaches in class, which by the way is taught in an unorganized manner on the chalk board. Our class average was a D and if you missed more than 3 classes you were not included on the curve.

I could never understand this man, his lectures are so contradicting, to maybe even understand what is going on in his class you have to read the book.. a lot. Forget about passing his exams as well, no matter how hard you study.

He is a very nice guy but his exams are extremely difficult and hardly anyone does well on them, no matter how much you study. The homework is easy and you take notes in class, but don't bother studying them because nothing you go over in class is on the exam. Save yourself the bad grade and avoid him.

Great professor. Very interesting class. Gets enthusiastic about his subject. Grade is based on 4 exams, easy on-line homework, and a couple quizzes that are announced before hand. Also, he takes attendance every day, so go to class. There are a couple of things that he doesn't go over in class, so its best to skim the chapter before the exam.

Only positive things are that he would meet with me way before classes start, and he was nice. The downfall: he blew me off for an appointment, saying he doesn't come to SRU on Thursdays. Guess who I see in Boozel later that day. Most questions on tests/quizzes have 2 answers. If every class every semester needs a huge curve, then there's a problem

Doesn't teach. Books don't match the test material, and the lectures don't correspond to either! The lectures don't help for the test, and the book sucks.

Dr. Valencia is a genuinely nice guy, but lets face it he is not a good professor. Homework requires a lot of work and is worth a minimal percentage of your grade. His tests are very difficult and full of tricky worded questions. Advice, read the book.

Attending and paying attention in class is vital, but reading the book is also really important for this class. He only discusses a few topics in class, the rest you have to do reading in the book. His exams are pretty hard, and the questions can be unclear. Overall, Valencia is a nice guy and is willing to help you with any problems.

AWESOME professor. I took Macro with Tannery and hated every second and I took Micro with Valencia and everything is so much clearer. I wish I could take more of his classes because he is very interesting to listen to and you can tell he really knows what he's talking about. Pay attention in class and read your book and you will get an A.

Great professor, he keeps class interesting. He curves test scores. If you do your homework and study for the tests you will have no problem getting a good grade. I had him for a night class and was interested the whole time.

Go to all classes! If you don't plan on going to class daily DO NOT TAKE Dr. Valencia. His curve is what pushed me up to a B, his tests are hard and he expects you to want to be there. I went everyday studied daily and managed a B. My GPA is a 3.8 he is a hard teacher, will make you work for grade but you use his all his info in your other classes
