Easy A if you do your work. Super easy work. Read a chapter, respond to questions. 3 class discussions. Readings were interesting. Nissen understood that not all students liked art and was okay for those type of answers if you explained. No feedback, but not necessary. Took 15 wk course and finished in 7 wk.

Weekly assignments due every Monday. There are series of questions that need to be answered by reading the textbook, and there are some discussions as well. Be prepared to give well written answer for every questions. Does not give feedback. Questions are easy to answer. A lot of the questions are opinion based. No group project nor test/quizzes.

I agree this class is based mostly on opinions so it makes the homework easy. If you do the assignments and put a little effort into the class it is an easy A. I would take Professor Nissen again. I also took this class online. No tests or quizzes just weekly assignments.

I am wrapping up my semester with Professor Nissen and I absolutely love this dude. This class is based mostly on opinions, so the homework is very easy. He asks that you be thorough in all of your responses, that's pretty much all he asks. There are no tests, quizzes, or stress. I work full time, this was a breeze! Easy A, just do your work.

This class is super labor-intensive, each week was 5-7 pages of homework, but it was mostly opinion stuff, which made it less of a hassle. He's a great professor, encourages open discussions, and makes the modules fun to the best of his ability. Participation is a must and almost everything is out of the text.

Best professor that I have had by far at Schoolcraft. He makes class really enjoyable by telling a lot of jokes. He never fails to make you laugh every day. As long as you are in class, take notes, and pay attention you will do just fine. His reviews for the tests are very similar to what is on the test so know them well. Overall, you must have him

Couldn't imagine a better instructor. The passion he has for art history definitely shows and makes the class incredible. Tests are definitely not easy but if you take the time to study it will be no problem at all. I usually don't do well on exams but I genuinely loved the class and ended with a 4.0 both semesters!

Wasn't too sure what his expectations were on the first couple tests so i did poorly. After realizing what he expects I did well on the final two tests but required detailed notes and memorisation.

The best teacher I've ever had, and I'm a professional student with at least 10 years of bad professors under my belt. If you would rather avoid college take Nissen, for I promise he will inspire you to WANT to know!

Nissen is a great teacher. Witty, entertaining and knows his subject. The tests are a bit tough, but if you study, you'll pass. Lectures are humorous, he will sometimes play on the piano and always jokes with the class. I passed despite having a very tough time with the tests. He's easy to talk to, understanding, and makes art history fun.

Professor Nissen is the best professor I have ever had, hands down. His lectures on "boring art" make the subject not boring at all because he has so much detail and knowledge about everything it draws you into him. You have to study for this, make flash cards it helps! He wrote my recom. letter for umich Ann Arbor and I got in. Love this guy!:)

Cares about his students and will help them study if need be! The only assignments in the class are 4 exams, including the final exam. The tests are easy if you study your notes and the study guide and attend all of his lectures.

No assigned homework. Graded off of 4 tests. He's not exactly clear about what'll be on some portions of the test, so just show up every day and take good notes, and you'll do fine. And entertaining professor, but lectures are what the whole class is. Very understanding, will work with you about studying and always lets you out a bit early.

Great class, it was one of those classes where there is little work but still a lot is learned. He is pretty entertaining although sometimes he is too much like Robin Williams. Either way it keeps you awake. There is no busy work and no projects, just four test (no cumulative final) based on the notes and if you want an A, the book.
