Monty is the sweetest, nicest, most wonderful lady ever. She was always kind to us and just sat back and let us lead the class with discussions, adding input occasionally. She is a tough grader when it comes to essays - everyone had to go to her multiple times to get what she wanted. Reading is mandatory but the books were great and so was she

The first two weeks, I did not know about this professor. She intimidated me a lot for some reason -- But she has turned out to be one of my favorite semesters! She is so sweet and gives you chances to get the grade you want! Very easy to talk to and is a delight!

Dr. M is an amazing person, but her class is kind of hard. She helps by critiquing you on the hard assignments you are given, but the class is really challenging. Though the course hurt my brain a little and was a lot of work, I gained more knowledge about writing and feel confident about my papers now. I would take it again just for that!

SO SWEET! She really made class interesting. I'm an English major and found it easier than my friend who wasn't. There is a lot of reading and it's a discussion-based class, but I really enjoy that type of class. So so nice, a little awkward at first, but she grows on you.

She may be the best professor I ever had. She made everything we read so interesting and I wrote some of my best essays for her class. I learned a lot about writing, theory and literature and she is an incredible, kind person. I actually want to be her when I grow up. Although I wouldn't take her if you're not willing to read and talk a lot.

Professor Montwieler is the best! She is kind and cares for her students. There is required reading every class but she facilitates the class discussions well. Three papers and almost weekly responses to readings due, but she is lenient and patient. Always ready to answer questions and thrilled when you talk in class. 10/10 would recommend!

Dr. Montwieler is a very interesting and unique lady. Her course seemed daunting at first considering the attendance policy and extreme amounts of writing. However, she gives out extra credit like candy and really cares that her students are learning. At the beginning of the semester I couldn't stand her but now have learned to love her quirkiness

I dreaded this class at first but it turned out to be my absolute favorite as the semester went on. Dr. Montwieler is brilliant, considerate, and helpful. Lots of reading, but she let us submit paper rewrites, and as show that you actually put real thought into what you are reading you'll get a good grade. 100% recommend.

Dr. Montwieler is an incredible professor. She is engaging, considerate, and brilliant. She is dedicated both to her students and to her field. Women in Lit is a fascinating class, and the assigned reading covers a broad spectrum of themes and styles. If you have an interest in literary and gender theories, this is a wonderful class.

I LOVE Dr. Montwieler! She makes the material interesting and opens your eyes to new perspectives while giving you a high quality teaching experience-one of the best I've had at Wilmington overall. Essays aren't too bad, ask her for help and she'll improve your essay writing abilities immensely.

Dr. Montwieler is one of the sweetest people you will encounter at UNCW. She is extremely laid back and is genuinely interested in what her students think about the materials and class. Papers aren't that hard and are fairly interested. I'd reccomend taking her to any English major/minor. She makes some of the more boring text a lot more fun.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Montwieler as a teacher and as a person. She is very kind and understanding. I had her last semester and I actually miss seeing her because she is such a joy to be around!VERY concerned about her students and makes learning fun.
