Comment:
Professor Burlinson cares about his students but is extremely picky in terms of grading assignments. He gives very vague instructions and will give you a bad grade if your paper isn't written in "his style." He typically gives two reading assignments per class along with discussion questions that need to be answered and posted to blackboard.

Great professor! I would definitely take him again. You have to do readings for class and write a few papers, but the readings are very interesting and the papers are good for practice. The Thursday before an essay is due, he cancels class. He is very interesting to listen to and has a lot to say.

Professor Burlinson is a nice guy, but grades you based on if he likes you or not. He also grades you based on if he likes your writing style or not. 3-4 1000 word papers in the semester. Gives homework for every class that you need to respond to online.

Super easy if you're good at English. If you're not good at English, try to actually respond to the short stories and you'll be fine.

Burlinson is a nice guy, but he grades your paper based off of if he likes your style of writing or not. He lets you rewrite your papers but that doesn't mean youre going to get an a the next time you write it. He's extrememly picky and be very rude on papers. I would avoid him if possible.

He is a nice guy, however, class consists of him talking about the short story we read for homework and its historical context, etc. VERY Boring class. You do get laptops, which helps, but still. He is a hard grader and he is very unclear with the essay topics. The laptop course is based online and you have a response due to a reading each class.

hardest teacher ever. i like english, and i'm a decent writer, but everything i write this man has a problem with. NOT an easy grader at all. he's very picky and if it's not written the way he wants it to be, then you'll get a c, maybe a c- . if you're looking for an easy a, or an a at all, i would not recommend this class at all

His class is extremely interesting. I would recommend taking his laptop courses. There is much interaction with classmates and the discussions are interesting and engaging. He also makes himself available for help on essays and assignments in his office. Burlinson is FABULOUS!

He tends to give more reading than most classes but the writing isn't a lot. He is a very critical grader and if writing is not your strength, you may have to work to get an A. Nice guy, kinda boring class but manageable

Lots of reading, class is usually interesting, but not always. If you came to FU but should be at a Community College, you might not like the workload.

For each class you have to read a book. He isn't clear on what he wants on papers and on tests. He's never at school and if he doesn't like you don't expect an A. The class is so boring and he has no idea what he's talking about. Worst teacher ever!
