Comment:

If you wanted to learn about his family and not basic plant science, this is the professor for you. Very serious about not using phones, which isn't a problem. Always veers off from lecture, if you aren't in his lab, good luck. Had to do my own research and watch youtube crash course videos in order to succeed.

He doesn't give grades back at all. He is super unclear with his grading criteria and he gives the most extra assignments. The only way to pass his exams are to show up and listen to his lectures. He also takes attendance seriously and talks ALOT about his personal life. If you have to take him just pay attention and try to stay on his good side.

He's a nice person once you get to know him but not very well organized or structured throughout the class. Goes off telling random stories too often and does not cover mandatory material. You'll never know what to study for quizzes and probably do pretty bad on all of them. Interesting class but not an easy A, requires A LOT of independent study.

As long as you take good notes, study them for weekly quizzes, you WILL do well. There are no midterm exams, just finals and quizzes, he wants his students to do well! He's a good guy, he loves T/F questions, he is amazing. Thought I did terrible, but did quite well! (: good luck guys!

Professor Crow is a plant genius! He is very kind and knowledgable in the subject and breaks down the course into many small quizzes which you can definitely do well on as long as you take good notes in class. He teaches you new ways to learn and really wants his students to do well. He is a great professor and super witty.

Pretty funny guy if you take racy jokes well. If not, you will be OFFENDED, so grow some humor. He's really not arrogant if you get to know him. Field plant ecology was pretty fun if you enjoy hiking. Is like an old grandpa talking about his glory days. Same stories, all the time. Rich guy but loves to teach and cares about students.

Not a Bio major but took him 2 semesters (Seed Plants and Plant Eco). Received an A in both. Weekly Quizzes, Final and Attendance required, he doesn't return quizzes but write your answers on your desk if you don't remember he goes over the quizzes every time. Feasible A, just review right before and attend every lecture.

Terrible professor. Doesn't engage the students, or even try to get to know them Students have NO clue what their grade is for the majority of the semester, and neither does he. He'll put up slide shows of flowers, but mostly the purpose of that is to show off his house. Gives quizzes, but never lets you see the score.

Very opinionated guy, can be hilarious at times with his comments. Assigns quizzes every 2 weeks based on the lectures so take good notes. Assigns a group project to help boost your grades up. Overall the professor and the class were interesting. Just study in groups for the final(recommended) and dont waste your money to buy the book!

He's good. I had no interest in plant class and he made it pretty interesting. I mean he is rich because that's what he does. Just listen carefully. I recommend you record him. Had NO idea what my grade was until I found my final score.Gives a quiz every other week or two and most people fail it.My suggestion is take LOTS of notes, pay attention, and do great on your final because if your grades are avg but you do excellent on your final he will push your grade up.I spent about 3 hours TOTAL on this class- got a B

This website is so not reliable. Dr. Crow is an amazing professor, there is no book so you have to go to class and PAY ATTN...which is what college is about in the first place. That is exactly what I did and so far my avg is an A. YES, I am female and NO I did not have to wear seductive outfits. I used my brain cells. You men should try that too.

Worst professor ever, there is no logic in the sequence of his lecture, since he is all over the place. If you are a good note taker, you might be able to survive. I can't stay awake in his class, and i am a 3.9gpa student. I hate him so much that I studied just from wiki and library to get A to show him.(he gets his material from wiki anyway)
