This guy Rocks! I was terrified of history until I saw Prof. Dempsey act it out in front of a classroom. His notes are in outline style on the board, he has no problems with questions/extra help. VEry clear on expectations for the test and one paper assignment. Fair grading, and funny!!!

Loves to go into fine details of the period in question and crack jokes--enough to keep even the back row awake, but not so much it slows down the class. Also an avid student of Ovid, which can only be a good thing. Can be a little overbearing sometimes, though I don't think he means to be.

Professor Dempsey is the best history teacher I have had during my 3 year college career, as a history major. He funny and cynical personality makes the class very intresting. He will pass out a study guide of possible ID's and two essays questions, which will be based on the exam. Easy to pass

This guy is excellent. Was a pure joy to have class with this man.. If you have any sense of humor at all you will enjoy the shear chesyness of this man.. Makes class go by quick and i actually learned alot about something i could care less about. he gives you exam outline follow it to a tee & pass

Great professor. Very funny, although same jokes get old day after day. Hands out essay questions for exams a week before the test. Very straight forward. Make sure you read the text. Writes out notes on board in ouline form. Great guy.

Dempsey is truly funny, esp. if you like a cheesy sense of humor. He sometimes lets students get him off track about all kinds of unrelated subjects, which is cool. The class is hard, but manageable. His weirdness makes it fun.
