Just studied using classical notes (not recommended) and I got about a 50% in the class which came out to a B. Tests are really hard, but if you go to lecture you should be fine. His accent makes class worth going to. :)

I only went to lecture 4 times including the midterm and final and just crammed using classical notes. Tests are extremely dificult using just the notes, so I would advise going to lectures. I got an A- because of the curve.

This class is pretty easy grading wise... But the tests are crazy hard! So make sure u either take good notes or get the classical notes and just memorize everything. There is a crazy curve at the end so if ur like me and have a 66% and the end then you'll probably get a B in the class.

now, the class title is "earthquakes" but it was more like "geohazards" because we spent maybe 3 lectures on earthquakes. Silly old guy who has problems with his computer constantly but entertaining. Hopefully you won't get a loser who takes notes on everything and messes up the curve because you can't prepare for his exams.

Cool prof.! He's funny and can be entertaining sometimes, even though he does go off on tangents every once and a while. Crazy curve!! My 55% got me a B- in the class, which makes the difficulty of the tests easier to take. Missed several classes, but the classical notes were a great giude.

He if a good professor but his way of teaching the class is boring and he does not post any notes online. He just has the slides on the web page without any explanation. If you go to class then you will understand some stuff but if u miss the class then u r screwed. Only take the class if you really need to because it is hard to get an "A".

His curve is very crazy and about 40% would be a C-, but his test are crazy too. He puts a lot of random informative on his test like location and events, rather then definitions and terms. Nice guy but his test will confuse the hell out of you. Last quarter average was 50% and that's for 200 people

Boringest class I have ever taken in my life. Tests are really hard, although the curve is good. Lectures consist of him writing a word on the chalkboard and talking about it in his British accent for what seems like hours.

It became a very enthralling class. It took a couple of weeks to get there though. The beginning of the quarter was boring and tiresome but it got better. His enthusiasm for the subject made it even better. The tests were difficult but study the lecture notes and you can easily get an a or a b.

What people said about this class is totally true! I didn't go very often and I still got a B with like a 55% in the class. Dewey him self is really cute he loves this earthquakes stuff and I think he really enjoys the class him being all excited made it worth it for me

This prof. was wicked cool. The tests weren't that hard, you just need to pay attention to the slides. He's really enthusiastic about geology. His diagrams were really helpful. I fell asleep sometimes and didn't go to class half the time, and i still got a B. He has a wicked curve. Take the class.
