Please avoid this teacher at all costs. Great topic, but some how he managed to ruin it. Topics that should be discussed for at least 40 minutes are rushed through in 5 minutes. Lots of topics in little detail, but the tests are extremely meticulous. Hard grader. Don't take.

Comment:

A divisive teacher: some like him, some hate him. Tough class, lots of studying required, but the reward is learning a ton of interesting social psychology and being able to identify specific experiments that illustrate important concepts. Prof is the slowest grader I've ever had, stupid papers, too. Learn to love him, though, and you're set!

Comment:

The mean on the final was a 68... he curved it to a C. He brought his kid to the final who made noise the whole time. Get a babysitter. Attendence is a sixth of your grade, so if you don't want to get a zero, you have to sit through his boring lectures. On the other hand, Social Psych is very interesting when learned from a good prof.

This guy is an idiot. He drinks mountain dew daily and is arrogant. He adds really stupid things to his slides that are supposed to be funny. Only good thing is that he occassionally plays music at the begining of class. No attendance required, extremely boring lectures, easy test, really nerdy professor, wierdo.

Subject matter is very interesting, but professor is boring and arrogant. He is very squeaky and gets angry much too quickly. He feels personally attacked when people ask questions, and therefore does not actually answer them but instead explains in a strained voice that it has been covered before.

The exams were EXTREMELY difficult and detailed. Although the material is interesting, he makes the lectures boring. He was not helpful when I went to talk to him during his office hours. I would NOT recommend taking a class with him.

Very nice guy. He seems really interested in this subject and wants to convey the passion. However, the material itself is very dense, and the class progresses incredibly fast. Looking back, I have learned a lot, but if you want a good grade, you really do have to put the time into it.

Hetts' class Was good because it was challenging. Needed to go beyond just repeating what the book said. I liked that his idea of learning involved application - you had to try and understand it from a personal perspective. People weren't willing to get away from themselves, which is a pity.
