This course I took two years ago but I just wanted to say that it is so satisfying to be learning something that you KNOW you will need for the end of the class. Everything he teaches you will be crucial when you film your movie. And making a movie is awesome.

John is a great prof. i had him for intro also (50 ppl) and i find that the smaller the class size, the more comfortable (re: less strange) he is.he knows his stuff, loves film, and is a funny guy.his classes are demanding, but he only expects as much out of students as is expected on realfilmshoots

Not a big fan of this class. It wasn't what I thought it would be (my fault). I found it to be boring, but I'm not a theatre major. However, I was not at all impressed by the fact that a major assignment could be based on group work. I got stuck with a real moron and my grade suffered b/c of it.

The more you learn about film, the more you will like him. He takes a few classes to get used to (I've taken three with him) And he truly LOVES his subject. You'll find him wandering around the editing room, helping people at 10pm on a saturday.

Unless you're a theatre major, he'll never really like you. And his assistant is a total **** of a grader! Me, the Honours English student, was given a C because of "poor sentence structure". Unless you're a total film buff, skip this class.

This prof has to be the worst possible. He is so boring unless you are some sort of crazed movie fan and his jokes are not funny. Do not take this class. It will be your biggest regret!
