I am watching a basketball game, of all things, at my mother's urging and it reminded me of my time at SU. I was immature and not ready for college 20+ years ago but even then I admired and respected Dr. Laverty. I no longer work as a music teacher but think of him often. He is an excellent director and professor and has influenced my life greatly.

Dr. Laverty is one of the greatest professors I have ever had. He gives us information we need to know and can use, and still makes class fun. I had him in wind ensemble, conducting, and instrumental rehearsal techniques, and consider them some of the most useful and enjoyable of my college career.
