Comment:

Professor McClendon is the the best Temple has to offer. His "lectures" are not typical. They are more like a large moderated conversation. Class includes showing up and expressing your opinion. Little homework. Exams are short answer but very easy if you show up to class and have common sense.

I started out liking the guy, but by the time class was done he grated on me. He is a very subjective grader. If you take his class I hope you are not quiet or introverted, because he really will have it in for you if you don't share in class. I would avoid class with him again if possible. Very moody.

It takes a bit to get used to McClendon's quirky energy, but he is so passionate about HR! Very interesting class discussions-- taking notes on topics he stresses and remembering to read the textbook + memorize laws are a NECESSITY to get a good grade on the tests. If you do that, they aren't too challenging! If you participate he will love you.

Discussions are interesting but tend to go off course. Test are essay and come mostly from the textbook cases. Most of the class discussions don't relate to the test. He's very slow with grading and answering emails.

Dr. McClendon is without a doubt one of my favorite professors at Temple. His energy is unbelievable and he is so passionate about what he does. His tests are straightforward and only assigns 4 one-page summaries and a group presentation during the course. TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!!!

McClendon is awesome. If he doesn't think people are interested he will jump around the room and get people's attention until they are. He really cares about his students and is interested in what they are doing. His lectures are entertaining and he knows his stuff. Take him! (But, only if you are ready for some great stuff!)

One of my favorite professors. Very engaging, you can tell he loves what he does (and his students) He will go out of his way to help you. He is an extremely fair grader. He loves hearing about what you do relating to HR. Don't ever yawn, he will jump in your face, haha. He's never tired

Professor McClendon is a great teacher that teaches "great stuff"! Would definitely take him again if I could. I recommend him to all in HRM. Attendance and participation is a must. The book is also a must. He's very engaging, approachable and helpful. Famous Quote: "Is this great stuff or what?"

Hands down the best teacher I have ever had. He uses the socratic style teaching which forces you to pay attention. He is funny and very entertaining. If you go to him for help, he goes out of his way to help you. I learned more from his class then I have in any other HR class I have taken. I highly recommend taking him.

Great teacher! He knows how to get the class involved in discussions and get insightful comments. He's very credible and knows his stuff. Tests are a little difficult, but can be done without studying. Reading the case studies and attending classes are mandatory. "Is this great stuff or what?!" :)

Excellent Professor! What you put into this class you will get out. He teaches all of his courses on a Graduate Level and is very informative.The book may not seem important at first, but it is very important in your ability to pass all of the exams. I really loved this class. Good Luck to you.

This guy and the class were both excellent. He's got so much energy that it infects the entire classroom and sparks great discussions. One of the best professors I've ever had at Temple or anywhere else. I think that he only teaches the short format courses, wish he taught 3 drecit stuff.

Comment:

McClendon is a great professor however he is a little corny and loves to hear himself talk. Participation is KEY!!! Pay extra attention to the power points, daily agendas, case study, and role plays. He pulls all of his test material from these things. His test arent easy. He does use the text but its not useful. There are alot of group projects.
