I have had Dr. Taylor for university band. He is very passionate about his job and makes sure we play the music correctly. He is a good instructor and can be very intense. He has high expectations for his students. Make sure you get to class, if you are tardy or don't show up he makes you work extra hours to make up for it.

I had Dr. Taylor for band, conducting, woodwind methods, probably other classes as well as overseeing student teaching. I found him to be caring and kind but not too soft to tell me what I needed to hear. He was very fair and objective. When I was student teaching, he became as a father figure to me, and I came to love & respect him deeply.

Taylors' awesome!! He's by FAR the best band instructor that I've EVER had! He's so into what he does, that he WON'T ALLOW you to make mistakes... and if you do... he cares that it gets fixed... just don't do it more than once!! lol

Though he is an excellent director, he pushes some students over the edge--requiring them to be in more groups or performances than really necessary. Especially for non music majors. Not the most pleasant person to be around at school, but outside of the Friends Campus, he can be quite personable.

When I first met him in 9th grade, I was scared of him! But don't be fooled by his yelling-he's actually a really nice guy. He's just so passionate about what he does. He really drives us, and I think I am a better player because of him.
