A really nice guy with an easygoing personality and a really soothing voice. BORING most of the time and the class is usually small so you have to show up and stay awake. I didn't like how the mini essays of rediculous topics are of equal worth to the midterm. Kind of hard essay grader but in the end it was to my benefit.

Although the subject matter is quite difficult, and his assignments are lengthy and tedious, Mr. Sabol presents the course material in a clear, easily-understood manner, and is very helpful and easy to approach.

Fantastic teacher! The comments he made on my papers improved my writing and his essays were thought provoking. Not one of the easiest classes I have taken, but I know I got a lot out of his instruction. Although his soft voice sometimes put me to sleep in the wee hours of 8:30, I think that had more to do with my late night tendencies. Not a waste

very kind, helpful, and caring. He is a fair grader when it comes to the midterm and final but very hard on the 5 essays he assigns throughout the term. Midterm is 10%, final is 20%, classwork is 10%, rest of the grade consists of the 5 essays. I somehow managed a B (expect somewhere between a B and C if eng is not ure strength)

Terrible teacher. Gives out handouts he wrote with obvious spelling and grammar mistakes. Does absolutely nothing to improve your writing. I don't know why he's teaching at Fordham, he's more cut out for a community college.

He's a bit of a tough grader, but is determined to make students understand the concepts through open discussion. The class provides indispensible tools for essay writing. On top of that, Sabol is a great guy who is always willing to help. Would I take him again? Absolutely!

nice, funny, fair grader..grammar is BORING but it's not his fault. peer revisions kind of suck when your paper is read and critiqued in class, but it only happens once. i would recommend this course, it will improve your writing.

I really liked sabol-- he's tough b/c he wants to improve your writing. he understands that the curriculum he had to teach was boring--it's hard to make comma placement fun-- but he'd try at least. Good guy, good teacher.

in response to the previous posting... all comp and rhetoric teachers hand out your paper to be corrected by the class, except it is left anonymous and is meant to help you become a better writer. sabol is a nice guy but not that easy of a grader
