if you hate science like I do take this class! You just fill out 8 different worksheets for each Unit and turn them in. You have two weeks to complete every unit and then have 2 assignments at the end of the semester. You can work ahead (I would because some of the worksheet are long - All answers are in the book though) Easy A.

Prepare to take many notes very quickly. Most tests are based off of lecture PowerPoints which aren't always posted in the most organized manner on D2L. Instructions for assignments can be vague but if you try your best you should still pass. Very knowledgeable and passionate about course matter. Friendly and caring outside classroom.

Arriagada is not the teacher to take if you want an easy A. That being said, he is very helpful and cares a lot about his students. He can be a tough grader at times, and he expects a lot out of his students. If you are a hard worker and show up to class, you should have no problem passing. Assignments are very easy, while tests are tougher.

His lectures are dry and boring. He tends to ramble on about unimportant things. He is not clear about what will be on exams (or when they will be) and he does not post his powerpoints that he goes over in class. The grade is based on a few exams and only 4 essays. I do not recommend this class.

Don't bother buying the very expensive book, he doesn't teach out of it at all. Tests are based only on his lectures and be sure to take notes quickly since the lecture notes he posts online are different than those he uses in class. He's a smart guy, but not a great professor. Generally disorganized, I didn't learn much.

He can be very hard to understand sometimes. He goes through the powerpoints so quick its hard to write good notes, and if you get behind or miss a class the powerpoints he puts on D2L are very disorganized and different from the ones he does in class. Your grade is only based on tests and they are extremely hard and there is too much info on them.

Great professor, very willing to help you if you need it. Tests are hard, and there are no other assignments to help bump up your grade with the exception of lab, but you can do decently well on them if you read through the PPTs and attend lecture. He adds extra points to everyone's score if there are questions that few people got right.

He is an amazing professor. Even though it was an online class but he answered emails. He grades easily. He doesn't give us any quiz, no mid term, no final. All we needed to is assignment from the book ans submit it on time. Then straight A

Dr. Arriagada was though to understand. Although he knew what he was talking about at times it sounded as if he was talking to himself. The exams are very hard, if you haven't had biology for a while expect a hard time. No attendance mandatory but all the points you get are from 3 unit exams and a final exam. Would not take him again.

If you get less than an A, you've worked at getting less than an A. This goes for the 3 classes (gen ed or not) that I've taken with him. Outside of classes, he will do anything that he can to help no matter the situation at hand, if he can help he will. So stop researching... and register for his class. A's baby.... all day

Make sure you bring your phone with the class. He goes through lecture material so fast that you can't possibly listen and take notes at the same time. No lectures are posted online. Test material is taken directly from lecture so show up to class. Four papers are also required but all the answers can be found in the book and paraphrased for an A.

Decently easy online class. 7 easy online assignments that you basically take answers from the book. 1 assignment that is a paper that is roughly 3-5 pages. Another assignment that is walking through a grocery store writing down plants in foods. No tests, quizzes or final. Overall easy and he probably doesn't even look at much of the assignments.

He is a very nice man, but his class does not follow guidelines he mentions. He puts all the power points on D2L and teaches right off them. On his exams, he tests you on information that you have not let learned or will not learn. Take this class online. I heard it is easier and less stressful.

Willing to help you and is knowledgeable on the subject. Class is boring and not mandatory, he just reads off the slides. which is what the tests are based off, but they are online. He's hard to understand. YOU DO NOT NEED THE BOOK..

Show up to class, pay attention in lecture. Very straightforward exams, most questions come directly from his lectures or the book. I do not like plants (except for bryophytes and ferns) so I had trouble motivating myself to study. But, like I said, show up, pay attention, and you will learn something AND get an "A."

We watched a lot of videos! His slides are scattered and he tends to put the same stuff in over and over again, which makes it hard to take notes. But it was a fun class and he is really a great guy. If you have questions, he's pretty helpful.

45% got a D or lower on the last exam. He babbles on about information not relevant to the test, yet formulates the questions to be knit picky. DO NOT take with Arriagada.
