Lectures were often dry and disorganized. Passionate about his subject matter, but had difficulty communicating effectively. Did provide notes electronically, and gave clear study guides for tests and final. Fair marker, and was very approachable.

I found him very hard to understand. He rambles and mumbles constantly. Very drab and tedious lectures. Must read the course material in order to pass the class. Gives very long and hard tests with strict time constraints. He's by far my least favourite teacher and I would not take him again.

If you like structure and organization you may want to pick another Prof. I have taken many classes of his and loved them all. He is the nicest man you can ever come across, and is so unintentionally funny it makes the lack of structure well worth it!

If you go to class, you'll pass. Easy marker, easy tests, put some effort into the essays and you'll be good as gold. Lectures are difficult to follow but he's extremely passionate about what he's talking about. Takes a genuine interest in all of his students, always has a smile on his face. Awesome guy, just an okay professor but I love his class.

Great professor, Model UN was a great experience and I couldn't imagine taking it from any other professor. He's clear about what he expects but gives students the freedom they need to make the course work with their own learning styles. If you can do Model UN with him I highly recommend it.

After six courses with him I can confidently say he's had a positive impact on my university education. You'll either love him or hate him but he's got a heart of gold and if you do the readings you learn a lot

Everything comes from his notes, which he emails to you. You're allowed 1 pg of notes for exams so it's easy. He's a genuine person who never hesitates to offer any help. If you participate in class or ask questions after you're golden. Told me exactly how to do my paper. Don't understand the troubles others have had with him. Just show an interest

Comment:
He ran a philosophy class like an international relations theory class. No depth to the material and tended to get annoyed at inquiry into the ideas we were exploring. Somehow Rwanda and Black Hawk Down made their way into the class. I was so excited for philosophy of human rights but I should have taken it with Dr. Malcolmson

Terrible professor; I learned NOTHING from his class which I didn't get out of the introductory class. I feel like my money is wasted, he spends entire classes (and this is a third year class) showing us a website which takes 5 minutes to navigate. Easy enough marker but not worth it if you have any interest in the course material.

He is an awful prof. He only likes the athletes. He's only sympathetic for those people, let's them get away with anything, while everyone else gets nothing. He talks about 4 things at once and never goes back to his 1st point. Don't recommend this class.

Not my type of class at all. I lost interest very quickly. The professor was not for me - it felt like he was talking above the class. He was nice enough to talk to in-person but constantly giving students a hard time for every little thing. He needs to learn to pick his battles.

I feel like I am burning my money on this class. I have taken three classes with him, and all are EXACTLY the same. His lectures have deteriorated, and I rely completely on the textbook to learn anything. I love him, but he needs to retire. Its frustrating when you learn nothing.

Interesting class and good prof. The lectures may be a bit disorganized but overall, are very helpful with understanding the reading material. He definately knows his stuff and is not against students voicing their own opinions. Exams and assignments are fairly easy and it's true, your mark will basically always be the same.
