Comment:

She was such an amazing professor! She was very nice and tried her absolute best to make sure every student would get an A in her class. It's a very laid back class. She assigns a paper per class, but it's only 2-4 pages and it's usually about interesting topics. Attendance is part of your grade, but I never wanted to miss her class.

Sweet lady! You have to write a paper for every class but most of them are pretty laid back. She is very liberal. A lot of your papers are based on movies you watch on your own time, they're often about racism or feminism, most aren't boring. Class is an easy A as long as you write the papers. Also, no class on Fridays!

Dr. Villa is hilarious and very kind. You write a lot of papers but she cancels class every friday so it isnt that bad. Most of the papers were on topics that were interesting so it wasnt hard to write them at all. Highly recommend you take her for this course

After every class you have to write a paper. Multiple articles, papers, videos, and movies are given. She made the class go to a play which we had to pay 13 dollars to get in, and buy a movie for 5. Even though its not a lot of money Id rather not pay money to write papers.

She is extremely unorganized and barely know how to work the equipment in the class. She even managed to lose both my and my friend's essay's and said we need to write them again. She is a nice enough person, but don't take her class unless you absolutely have to.

Very liberal professor and her lectures are geared towards social issues. After each class, we were given an article or movie to watch and would have to write a response paper. Then the next class we would have a group discussion on the subject. Personally I liked her style of teaching, but it isn't for everyone. This class was an easy A.

She is pretty good. You write over 20 papers but she does not grade harshly at all. She has a grading contract so as long as you write a certain amount of papers and show up to class a certain amount of times you will get the desired grade. She is very liberal so you may struggle if you have a differing opinion. No class on Fridays.

She is quite an overly opinionated professor. She needs five student aids just to manage a class of 25 students and requires that all of your papers be to her personal liking and have the same opinion as her even if you pass all of the requirements to get an A on your paper. If you are a freshman this class will mess you up.

By far my favorite professor ever. She is hilarious and always has something interesting to say. You have to write alot for this class, but it's interesting and she doesn't grade hard at all. You just have to show up to class, which is fun anyways. No classes on Fridays. Take her!

She's is truly awesome. If you have to take ENGL 121, take her because the class isn't stressful at all but you still learn cool stuff. You have quizzes almost every class, so it's important to read or watch material and come to class but it's not hard at all. If you have her MWF, she cancels Friday classes for the whole semester. She is awesome

ATHLETE FRIENDLY!! She chooses very interesting movies, books, short stories to watch for class and easy, one paragraph quizzes the following class. Reading the books aren't necessary because you can easily bs an answer and will get credit, as long as it makes sense and is thought out. Very nice and funny!

Never posts grades and her grading "contract" makes no sense. Basically flying blind every week hoping I get credit for papers. The movies we watch are interesting but the discussions and homework are just god awful. I truly believe she means well but I would never take a class with her again.

Uses a grading contract system, if you show up and pass the daily quizzes you will be done and receive an A before the semester ends so long as you do the final. Very relaxed, cancels friday class because there is movie night every week (optional) if you don't go to that, you just have to watch the movie on your own. It was a lot of busy work. EASY

Easily one of the worst professors I have EVER taken at IUP. She is incredibly scatterbrained, and if you do not share her opinion on a subject then you are not only stupid, but also idiotic. She does not put grades on anything, and when she tried to explain her grading scale it made zero sense. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Dr. Villa is super funny and makes class interesting. It's a literature class, so expect to read. There are quizzes every day, so going to class is a must. Classes are discussion based. You show up, take a quiz, and participate in the discussions and you'll get an A. I would highly recommend her if you don't want a typical boring English class.

She's a great professor and I would definitely take her again! Her fun personality makes going to class more enjoyable and she easily relates herself to the students. The tests are easy and as long as you have the idea of what is going on you'll pass! You can miss 4 classes and still get an A. No papers to write. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN! :)

This "teacher" is undoubtedly the most asinine, scatterbrained professor I've ever had the displeasure of taking in my entire college career. Her grading criteria makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever, and she only echoes what the DVD that comes with the textbook says (right after you got done hearing it in class). Great subject, WORST "teacher".

Honestly she's very scatterbrained and will change an assignment last minute. She's unorganized and entered my midterm grade as an "F" when I had an "A". Not to mention a lot of the information she tries to teach is wrong.
