Comment:

Professor McDonald is really sweet and is a solid option for ECO 29. Hardest part of the class is that the exams are "hybrid multiple choice," which means that you need to explain your answer for the multiple choice questions. ECO 29 as a course is really easy so you shouldn't have any trouble with it. You really have to know your stuff though.

Took her ECO 119 class, was very frustrating. Her lectures are alright, can sometimes move too fast. Writes out all her notes and sometimes they can be confusing however. Biggest issue is her tests. She designs them for you to run out of time, they're impossible to finish and your have to scramble for as many points as possible. Made it 10x harder

From what I hear, she is tougher than the other ECO 29 Professors, but that still does not make it a difficult class. My biggest complaints are that attendance is always taken and the recitation was less than useless.

Exams are "hybrid multiple choice" and make it 10x harder to do well in the class than if you took it with another teacher. Still haven't figured out where her exam questions come from how to effectively study. Recitation is saving me in this class

McDonald is a very helpful professor during office hours. In class, she tends to be all over the place. Best advice I can give is to keep up with the class early since everything builds upon itself and just gets more complicated. Homework assignments do take a while and tests are no cakewalk but stay ahead of the average and you're good.

Very helpful teacher!!! If you have any confusion at all, don't hesitate to go to her! She can be hard to get a hold of, however. Always try to raise your hand in class, as she loves it when people actually raise their hands. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to learn a lot. The class itself is very manageable, too.

Great professor for a superb introductory macroeconomics class. Since it's macroeconomics, there isn't as much of a mathematics component as, say, ECO146, though you still deal with lots of models and graphs. So you should expect more textbook readings. All five homework assignments are long, but they really prepare you well for the tests.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. Would definitely recommend her for any economics class. I came into the class with zero interest in economics and grew to love the subject. I had to work hard but I learned a lot.

She is one of the best professors I've had at Lehigh. Extremely caring and devoted to her students' success. The class is not easy and requires a good amount of time and work but McDonald really wants you to do well. She's great

Best professor I have had so far at lehigh. She goes out of her way to make the material understandable, and was more than willing to help students during office hours. Extremely caring and intelligent woman. If you have a chance to take a class with her, do it.

Hard grader. Tests are seven to eight pages long and homeworks take at least six hours. She understands the material so well, she forgets that her students don't and blazes away at light speed whether or not the class is following. Really nice and mostly helpful in office hours, though.

McDonald is an excellent professor. She teaches you in class and you practically don't have to open the text because the class notes are really good. She will also go out of her way to help you if you need it. Go to the class, there are 5 homeworks due all semester and 2 midterms and a final. If you go to class, you will do well.

I cannot believe that people chose to recommend the class or not based on a Canadian accent! Lectures were super-clear, she treats the students with great respect. Textbook contained 95% of info, but she does an AMAZING job explaining it in class - after her explanations I only went through my notes once and got an A on all exams.

Comment:

She has a tiny Canadian accent that is pleasant if anything. Great professor. Extremely intelligent and on the ball. She can go through concepts in class pretty quickly sometimes and her handwriting is not the best, but she is always helpful at her office hours. You will learn a lot in her classes and she will not put you to sleep.
