She is absolutely fantastic. The class was great and hard to fail as long as you do the work. 4 papers, some reading quizzes, peer review, and a final exam (which is just in in-class essay). There's no textbook so don't worry about buying one. She allows 3 absences and that's it. She's very approachable so don't be shy. I would def take her again.

I really enjoyed this class. The lectures are more like open discussion which makes the class more enjoyable. She is very straightforward about what she wants you to do for papers. She is also very helpful. Take this class.

Mrs. Rocca is a great teacher that is very understandable with her students. You read great short stories, poems, and plays. Pop quiz almost everyday but they're only 4 easy questions based on what you read. Great course.

I really appreciated Mrs. Rocca. She was one of the best English teachers I've ever had. She challenges her students but the papers and assignments are meaningful. I learned a lot about my field and major and expanded on my writing ability. She was a tough grader if you didn't work hard. She expects you to put time and effort into every assignment.

Ms. Rocca is a super sweet, helpful teacher. In 211C, she does not give any tests, and only one open notes online MLA quiz the entire semester. You have 5 essays throughout the semester with plenty of time in between each of them. The fifth essay is completed during class time. You can even revise one of your essays for a higher grade. Take her!

Comment:

Professor Rocca has to be one of the best professors I have ever had! Hate Literature and writing papers, but her enthusiasm about this subject and her spunky personality made it an overall better experience. She picks the best short stories,poems and plays to learn about and she made my mind about Literature in general change! TAKE HER CLASS!

Biggest downfall is how hard she grades- if you are content with a B then take her, but if you want an A be prepared to work. Her class was very enjoyable due to it being a discussion-based class and she picks good reads. Sending your rough drafts to her to edit and taking good notes in class were essential for me. She provided us with a textbook.

Prof. Rocca is the best English professor I've ever had. Very nice and is very humorous as well which lightens up the class. Very clear about what she expects on essays. Fair grader and will be more than willing to help you go over mistakes. Definitely should be any person's first choice for an English Composition class.

The stories were extremely interesting so really do the homework and it will help because she gives short easy easy pop quizzes. And the two play you watch in class are interesting too. Ms. Rocca is really kind and is humorous with her teaching. She is a good teacher and is very clear on what she wants for papers and such. You read almost every night and have a quiz the next class. But they are usually only 3 or 4 questions and are super easy. I totally reccommend her. I barely tried and got a B+ in her class.

Comment:

Rocca is one of the best professors I've had; her personality keeps the class awake. We read only the articles that related to our assignments, but buy a used book bc you will jot down small notes. Conferences are helpful, and take time to ask for help if you need it.
