Horrible instructor. The class is usually divided in two or three, meaning you won't have the same professor. Roberts always teaches, and is just plain horrible. Power points do not make sense, better off reading. The entirity of your grade is on the final pretty much. Average is low. You can get an A, but still feel like a failure.

Recently had him for 110ab. 1 exam, discussion&online surveys. Average for 110b was ~30% (somewhat below 110a) and he put lots of random stuffs on it but they're pretty much basic knowledge. Know structures and cycles, then go back and forth along with concepts. stuffs are interesting but time consuming. btw generous curve.

His class is difficult and he does expect you to memorize a lot of information, but it should be done strategically. Emphasize his lecture slides and QUIZES when studying! The students who say his class is ridiculously tough are just lazy. If you put in the time you will get an A. Average on our final was a ~28%, get 60 and you're clear.

i think Dr. Roberts is an extremely unorganized teacher; his powerpoint notes will take u from page 87 to 897 to 478 and in the end ull forget most of the things that you have read. read chapter 6 very well cuz we had atleast 100 out of 210 points from that chap. his lectures are worthless; u can miss all the classes and ull be as good as others.

He is definitely hard. his lecture notes are all over the place and don't help at all. the whole grade depended on one ridiculously hard final not to mention lecture/lecture notes were not enough to prepare for it. the book is super long but you have to read in order to pass, Theres a curve though.

Really hard professor and really monotonous. entire grade pretty much depended on the final, which is ridiculous. final itself was ridiculously hard. practice exams posted didnt help much, if at all. if u dont have to take 110a, dont take it, but if u do, avoid him if possible. if u do take the class...good luck...ur gonna need it!

ur rite, hes not easy, hes as hard as they come, the book you must not only memorize but understand how it occurs, i did think he was boring, but his material is by far the most interesting, and you will appreciate how smart he is if you truly understand the material and ask questions, because this guy is a *uckin genius. Having just taken the final yesterday, the professor is not that bad. He has too much material to present, so he usually just highlights stuff in lecture. But go see him and talk to him and use the discussion boards to really flesh out the material and read the book carefully. A nice guy apart from his exams, which are definately hard.

Roberts doesnt know how to present his lectures in an ordered fassion. He takes material from the text to post on his slides, but usually fails to explain finner points, or what he expects us to learn. Sometimes he wont even comment on certain material, but come exams, he will expect us to know that material in a detailed manner. Frankly, he blows!

Got an A average in the series, but didn't learn one thing I consider valuable. He'll teach u very easy stuff and none of it will be on the test..it's up to YOU to teach yourself.
