This teacher gives a 5 question quiz on the reading at the beginning of every class period. He puts you on the spot with incredibly specific questions from the reading and makes you feel "less than" if you do not answer correctly, regardless if you did the reading.

Really knowledgeable professor, but expects you to have just as much passion. While his tests and quizzes(every class), are straight forward he tends to pick on students in the class to give answers so be prepared. You can get a good grade in this class. You have to read the material, quizzes are everyday and involve specific passages and quotes.

One of the best teachers at Gettysburg College. He is the sweetest man ever and his dry sense of humor is hilarious. If you can't take a joke and don't like people playing "devil's advocate" don't take the class. But he is incredible and my essay writing skills have improved incredibly!

He tends to fill in the stereotype of a technology phobic professor. His class is not difficult but I don't see what the hype is about. He tends to poke fun of students.

The BEST professor at Gettysburg, hands down. This guy is phenomenal! Even though I had him for an 8:30 class, I never minded going to class with him. He's really intelligent, knows his stuff, and his passion for the subject plus his very dry, witty sarcasm definitely adds to the student interest. You MUST take a class with him!

Garnett is seriously the most amazing, intelligent human being I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His lectures are fascinating, and he knows the material so very well. Homework and attendance is necessary, but you won't want to miss anyway. I enjoyed getting up for an 8:30 AM Class.

Professor Garnett is an amazing teacher who takes the course seriously, but not to point where it is harsh and tedious. He is witty and sarcastic, but with lighthearted humor that is not offensive. A brilliant teacher who really knows what he's talking about. No homework (other than the readings, which aren't very long) and the quizzes are easy.

Comment:
Extremely boring. He gives no deep insight into any work and insults your intelligence with his ridiculously easy questions and explanations about the text. The daily quizzes are annoying, easy and obscure. His weekly papers do not allow for exploration into pieces. If I were in 7th grade I would be bored with this class-it's torture at this level.

Garnett is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is sarcastic to the point of being outright rude and shows little respect for students. I felt completely belittled in his class, and I wouldnt recomment taking it.

This class was fantastic. It's true that if you're lazy and uninterested (read 2 comments below), you'll have a tough time. but i found the class stimulating and I thought Prof. Garnett's personality and teaching style added a lot to discussion.
