Im not understanding the other comments but Karla is amazing! Shes a great professor. Very understanding. I took her twice and i would take her class again. She teaches you history like story time in kindergarten. Her test/quizzes are very easy.

This professor made it extremely hard to enjoy this class. The whole grade consisted of tests/quizzes, and whatever occasional assignment she would throw your way that was NOT mentioned in the syllabus. Her grading criteria was not clear, and was changed at the end of the semester. I will never take a class with this professor again.

This professor provided lots of tests/quizzes. It was primarily the whole class. Her tests were 40-60 questions per chapter. Not counting the quizzes we took on each chapter. If you are not a good test taker, you wont pass.

She's a great professor for those who are actively interested in history. She will work with you if you talk to her about anything you're struggling with. Her office hours are always posted and she'll do appointments if necessary. She does have a tendency to repeat herself which can make the lectures a bit more boring.

This is by far the worst class I have ever taken online. You have a 50 question quiz every week, timed and only get 4 days to do it and the tests are broken down into 4 parts but get even less time. You are entirely on your own. You have to read the entire book. There's no online lecture or power points. Terrible. Teacher does nothing.

I just finished her online history class. There are 14 quizes and 14 tests, timed. The quizes are taken once a week and are easy. On tests you have a couple days to complete about 4 of them, and they are much harder with less time. Questions are obscure, some are on quizlet, but would not recommend taking this class if you actually want to learn

Everything is online all the tests finals, wasted my time in class even though participation matters she gives you points for it. Hated the class every test had nothing to do with the lectures. Do Not recommend if you don't want to waste your time, if anything take the class online.

Dr Lechner is my absolute favorite this semester! She is a brilliant woman who will broaden your mind with historical facts you never knew existed. She makes herself available to all and has a great way of making facts stick in ways no other professors can. She is the most engaging, brilliant woman I've had teach me. Take her class! Won't regret it

I was in her U.S. women's history class, however, the class somehow turned into feminism 101. Every class students in the class and the professor herself participated in extremely bias conversations that made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I am a girl, and I still felt that the topics that were covered in class were extremely inappropriate.

I dropped the class after only a month. She was assigning ridiculous assignments and did not explain the chapters we read well. She was off topic when going over slideshows with us that she'd end up posting online anyways. The amount of reading we'd have to do for this class was also insane but understandable considering what the course was.

Really smart and opinionated. Shows both sides of history that most are not used to learning about. All exams are online. We only had two paper assignments which were both easy. She made history interesting to be honest and i left the class with more understanding. I'm a bit of a slacker but because everything was so easy, i left class with an A.

Good Teacher, Easy tests, all tests were online which was a plus. Couple papers which weren't that hard to do. Tough grader though. Overall easy class to pass. Don't need to put much effort into passing, I didn't and passed with a B.

Ekquist-Lechner is a solid professor. She's clearly brilliant (and also opinionated, which is refreshing). Her lectures are interesting, but long. There's little homework and the tests are all online. There's one project and it's really simple. Put some effort in, and you'll do fine! She's intimidating, slightly compassionate, but super helpful.

Very knowledgeable & pleasant. Boring lectures, but any 3 hr class is hard to sit through. Allows people to say opinions and get a little off topic. The tests are all online and the answers are on quizlet, so you really only have to think for the essays which are only 10 points. Didn't use textbook, did use document book for essay questions.

I am an A student with challenging online class experience. Her class was remarkably horrible. The syllabus was ambiguous, the grading criteria "to be determined" she took weeks to grade tests that were 95% computer graded. Did not answer ANY questions except one 2 weeks from the end of class where she publicly insulted a student. Tests took hours

She is incredibly knowledgable but often gets side tracked and you eventually fall behind in the material towards the end of the semester. If you're taking Women's History with her, beware. Towards the end of the semester she assigns a scrapbook that has really nothing to with women's history, but more to do with how women are presented today.

Had her for U.S. History 1. She's very good at throwing both sides of the story into it. Not afraid to explain the hypocrisy in the founding of the U.S. and everything prior to it, and after it. She's clearly a liberal who has no problem expressing her dislike for something about the states. Tells you what other professors are afraid to. She's real

worst teacher ever, she lectures all the time and what she teaches is not on the test. Cannot show up for weeks or pay attention and still have a good grade. Extremely feminist to the point where if you do not see it her way you are wrong. avoid at all cost, and she will only tell you what she believes to be correct mostly unsupported facts

I think she is a very nice teacher. She is very clear and pauses during her speech to indicate what is important. Her examines are fair. The constant talking can be boring but it is to be expected bc it is a history class. I recommend.
