One of the best English profs at SUCO. Finin is super sweet and helpful. She will explain anything a thousand times over if you needed! I would highly recommend taking her classes.

Comment:

Finin was the professor I truly needed. My writing has improved so much from the beginning to the end of the semester. Her grading may come off as harsh but her feedback is essential for improving your essays. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss a class, it's hard to make up the work. Overall, a great learning experience from Dr. Finin!

Comment:

Professor Finin's Renaissance class is quite challenging. She's very passionate about her subject and makes it enjoyable, but if you dislike the material it's gonna be a rough go. Tests are super difficult and her papers are harsh, and the projects you have to do are tedious. But she makes it worth it; work hard and you'll pass!

Professor Finin is such a nice teacher and very very respectful. She's passionate and caring and such a joy to listen to! Her tests are very difficult, however, and there's a ton of reading to do every night. Her papers are harshly graded, and her discussions are intense, but she makes it all very worth it! Work hard and you'll pass!

Dr. Finin is a great professor and a lovely woman. Her Sci-Fi class was interesting, but a little depressing. The books we read were just so heavy, and you have to read almost 90 pages a night, so you better love these things. Her tests are easy if you read the stuff. Spark notes is maybe not the best choice, and her essays are killer. 8/10!

AVOID HER if you are looking for an easy A. She grades way to hard for a Composition 100 class. When you get grades back it is disappointing because you could work so hard on a paper and only receive a B-. The work load is very heavy, if you get her as a teacher I wish you luck.

She's going to expect you to participate and will call on you to participate even if you don't volunteer, so be ready. It's usually clear what you have to do but never be afraid to ask and she will help point you in the right direction. Pay attention or you will be lost. Tests aren't too bad, but you should definitely study.

AVOID THIS TEACHER if you do not want to write a 6 page paper every week with two drafts required before the paper. She is a lovely woman but her workload is rediculous. she should NOT be teaching freshmen or any 100 level course. I will never be taking another class with her but I may try and stay in contact because she is really very kind

Professor Finin is great! You definitely have to push yourself for a good grade in her class and on her papers but its totally worth it! Ive improved as a writer so much in this class and I'm super excited to take classes with her in the future! :)

Great, useful class, should be mandatory for every major. Finin grades hard to make you a better writer, you definitely have to work for your grade and take the class seriously. Doesn't always give you enough time to write drafts, and there's almost always a paper to be working on which can be overwhelming at times. Wonderful professor, take her!

This was an amazing class, and I will take any class I can with her in the future. It was tough, and she was a hard grader, but I felt that it only pushed me to become a better writer. The classes were fun and the discussions were interesting. I'm actually going to miss her class.

This was my second class with this professor and she taught both the same way. Boring class to sit through. Must read! Short online quizzes about 3 times a week but they don't get graded. Final and midterm are multiple choice. 2-3 tests throught the semester besides midterm and final and she grades tough! They are 1 essay but she gives you the essay choices in advance. Can't pass without reading/studying. She is very nice and always willing to help!

AWESOME!! I want to take every one of her classes! I'm an English major but dreaded Shakespeare but now I love him! I admire her passion for literature and for teaching. A very caring and dedicated professor. Her tests are challenging but not too bad if you read, come to class, and study. Worth every second of my time!

She is absolutely wonderful. I'm not an English major but took her Shakespeare class because I like Shakespeare. She was so helpful and made sure everyone understood what was going on; if I had taken a class with her while deciding on my major she could have converted me to English. I highly recommend her
