Dr. Franzen is an acceptionally kind woman, however, her teaching style can become monotanous (she's English and her classes are very much in the English style of learning; she lectures and prefers no questions until the end) and during Spring semesters she will miss many classes due to an inability to traverse the mountains.

I had her for Western Civ I and II, and I learned a lot! Her lectures made sense, and I retained the information, plus her accent helped keep me more focused on what she said. The classes are easy if you do the work and take good notes, and she's very helpful.
