Comment:

Dr. Nolan is a great professor who's dedicated when it comes to teaching her students. She lectures and records the lectures on tegrity and it helps to review and study especially if you missed some concepts in class. She's tough at first but it's only for the best because it pushes you to work hard and earn your grades! She's amazing and funny too

Dr. Nolan is the best professor I have had at St. Francis. She doesn't just lecture---she records problems on Tegrity and uses case studies to make it interesting. She does give quizzes, which I hate, but I get it that she wants us to study. I definitely saw some of the same types of questions on the MCAT.

She made the parasitology class really interesting. We had to draw specimens in lab, which helped us learned what they looked like. She supplemented with some awesome videos from youtube--I mean, how many professors do that??

Ok. So let me say that I have had Dr. Nolan for 4 biology classes. She is genuinely a nice person OUTSIDE of class, as soon as she walks in class her entire personality changes. She is not clear about what she lectures and what she wants you to study for exams. She doesn't follow the textbook at all but you will need the text in order to pass.

Not clear at all! Ecology labs are horrible. makes you take the train to far places like YONKERS & doesn't even help by paying for 2 extra trips on your metro per week. not specific as to what she puts on exams or wants in lab reports. Makes you feel stupid & goes off on a tangent about deer which has nothing to do with the text.

Honestly she is no joke. There will come a time where you literally hate her because she gives quizzes every day and her test are very challenging. But this is coming from someone who passed her test with 65s as long as you REALLLLY TRY, do the extra credits and homeworks you will do fine. It is a lot of work but when you pass you feel amazing!

You will go into this class not knowing a single thing about Bio and walk out knowing a lot. She really knows her stuff. Her tests are hard, but her quizzes (almost every class) are easy. She's a good teacher, but she's unapproachable. She will make you feel discouraged when you ask her for help. Make sure you study really really hard.

she is one of the worst professors a college student can ask for. This is coming from a student who studies countless numbers of hours, and who has A's in every other class. She is very not approachable, she makes you feel stupid for getting something wrong, and she is just plain awful on explaining. AVOID HER!!!!

Before I had Dr. Nolan, Ppl scared the crap out of me. I have hard science profs b4 but I was stil kinda scared...She really wasn't as bad as i heard. this woman is crazy. she sets the women's rights movement back years because she does not want any women to succeed in the science field. she is profoundly jealous of any woman who has a medical degree, because she could not get one herself. she seems to like plants but does not seem to relate to animals or human beings.

Tough teacher, but if you want to get into any type of medical, dental, etc school you need to have a hard professor. Textbook is not mandatory to use (I never opened it), but make sure you take GOOD notes from the lectures and her powerpoint slides. Oh, and study, a lot.
